Aprilia has unveiled the new SXR GT range in India, which includes the SXR GT 125, and SXR GT 175. Both of these two-wheelers get sporty-looks with proper maxi-scooter proportions, comfortable ergonomics, and engine from the SR range of scooters.
Design
Both of these maxi-scooters share the same bulky, sporty, and quite modern design. There is a tall windscreen, along with a split LED headlight with neatly integrated DRL. Along with this, the scooters get large 14-inch alloy wheels which do complement the overall looks of these maxi-scooters. Both of the SXR GT scooters are available in a total of three colour options. Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro, and Glossy White for the SXR GT 125, and the Metallic Blue, Matte Black, and Matte Green shade for the bigger SXR GT 175.
Engine
The SXR GT 125 gets a 125 cc engine that makes 10.6 PS and 10.4 Nm, while the SXR GT 175 gets a 175 cc engine that produces 13.3 PS and 14.14 Nm. These are the same engines as seen on the SR range of scooters from the brand.
Underpinnings
Both scooters use conventional telescopic fork, and a rear monoshock suspension setup. They run on large 14-inch alloy wheels, with road focused tyres. Both scooters get a 220 mm front disc, and a 140 mm rear drum brake setup.
Features
The Aprilia SXR GT 175 gets a 5-inch TFT console, same as the SR 175 hp.e. There is smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts and even music controls. The SXR GT 125 on the other hand, gets a 5-inch LCD console, without connected tech. The SXR GT 175 also gets a single channel ABS, while the 125 gets CBS (combined braking system).
BikeDekho Says
The new SXR GT range is essentially a new version of the previously discontinued SXR range. They get slightly tweaked design, improved engines, better features and much more. The only thing to be seen now, is the pricing of these scooters. Both of these scooters could be launched this month, that is October 2026. The expected price for the 125 is around Rs 1.23 lakh, while for the 175 it should be around Rs 1.45 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). Once launched, the SXR GT 125 will compete with the Suzuki Burgman Street, and the bigger SXR GT 175 will go against the Hero Xoom 160. Currently, aspiring customers can pre-book these scooters at their nearest Aprilia dealerships.
