Hero MotoCorp has launched a new top-end variant of the Xtreme 125R called ‘Dual Channel ABS’. It is priced at Rs 1,04,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and now is the only bike in the 125cc sporty commuter segment to get dual-channel ABS as standard. Here’s a variant-wise price breakup:

The Hero Xtreme 125R’s Dual Channel ABS variant is available in three colour schemes: Black Pearl Red, Black Matshdow Grey, and Black Leaf Green. While the design is unchanged, the graphics layout has been slightly revised.
The bike is still powered by the same 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as before (the new Hero Glamour X 125 also gets the same motor). It produces 11.4PS and 10.5Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The claimed mileage of the Hero Xtreme 125R is 66kmpl.

Just like the Glamour, the bike now also gets a 4.2-inch colour LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, along with call and SMS alerts.
The bike also gets a bunch of riding aids, including a cruise control system, three riding modes and an electronic throttle (ride-by-wire) too. While cruise control is a nice, fancy feature to have, it isn’t really all that practical on a 125cc bike - especially on Indian highways that are often packed with traffic, forcing you to modulate speed frequently. The underpinnings of the bike have remained the same as before: a telescopic fork and a monoshock, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The updated Xtreme 125R rivals the TVS Raider 125, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and the Honda CB125 Hornet. Interestingly, the NS125 also recently got an updated top-variant, with segment-first ABS modes.
Coming back to the Xtreme 125R, it was also one of the best-selling 125cc bikes in the country in September 2025 with over 21,184 units. With the festive rush and the launch of this new variant, expect the sales to go up even further in the following months. The updates also make the Xtreme 125R one of the most well-rounded, feature-packed 125cc bikes in India. If you’re someone who is looking for a bike that not only offers good mileage but also looks cool, packs convenient features while also not compromising on safety, the Xtreme 125R Dual-channel ABS variant should be a great choice.
In a related development, Hero MotoCorp unveiled a whole range of concept EVs at EICMA 2025 this week. Here’s a quick summary of all the new Hero bikes and scooters unveiled at the event. The company had something interesting for off-road fans too, as the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition was unveiled.

- Our Go-To Weekend PathsI always liked long routes, so I started taking weekend rides with my partner. This bike stays steady on open roads and doesn’t feel tiring after an hour or two. Works well for small breaks, turns, and peaceful highway stretches. Good for couples beginning longer trips. We began doing short couple rides and slowly tried longer routes. The bike feels relaxed on straight roads and even winding patches. Weekend travel became easy, and we never felt drained after rides. Great for new couples who want simple, stress-free long trips. After hearing friends talk about solo rides, we started exploring together. This bike handles distance routes smoothly and keeps the ride calm. Highways, curves, and small stops all feel comfortable. - Reliable, Fuel-Efficient, and IdealI travel the whole day visiting customers and delivering material, so I wanted a bike that looks smart and runs without trouble. The sporty looks and strong build of the Xtreme 125R stood out, and the seating felt perfect for long hours. The fuel efficiency helps because I ride a lot every day, and the engine stays calm even after long continuous use. The ride is comfortable, and the power is enough for flyovers and quick overtakes. Storage hooks and USB charging are useful. Great for small business owners or field work people who travel across the city daily. Low running cost, smooth gears, and reliable service experience. If you want performance with decent mileage and modern design, this is a sensible pick.Read More1
