BMW has launched its most popular naked sport motorcycle- S1000R in India at Rs. 22.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The motorcycle is a naked version of the famous supersport motorcycle BMW S1000RR. Official BMW importers will provide the bike in India via CBU route after booking.

    BMW S1000R

BMW S1000R comes with a very aggressive styling, taking most of the basic design elements from the S1000RR. Like other BMW bikes, it also gets unique, assymetric twin headlamp unit. The bike gets a masculine fuel tank, sporty split seats and speedster type single piece handlebar for a perfect seating position. Engine cowls also get a wild look with air-scoops on it.

    BMW S1000R

Propelled by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four, BMW S1000R churns out 160bhp of maximum power at 11,000rpm along with a peak torque of 112Nm at 9,250rpm. The bike also gets many advance features including race ABS, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), automatic stability control (ASC) and dual riding modes- road and rain.

    BMW S1000R

It sports 46mm invertd font forks and single shock with two sided swing-arm at the rear, both adjustable with rebound damping. The company is also offering dynamic damping control (DDC) system as an optional equipment for better damping and stability. Front wheel comes fitted with 320mm dual disc brakes with 4-piston fixed calipers, while the rear wheel gets a 220mm disc with single-piston floating caliper.

    BMW S1000R

BMW S1000R is a fantastic package for the naked sport enthusiasts, however, the price of the bike looks too high for a 1000cc roadster. The other offerings in the segment like Kawasaki Z1000, Honda CB1000R and Yamaha FZ1, which are available in a price bracket of Rs. 10-14 lakh only. The bike costs almost twice than its rivals, however, we are sure that BMW fans will definitely go for this bike, because it's one of the most important model in the company's portfolio.
