The Bajaj website had erroneously mentioned single-channel ABS
When Bajaj launched the Pulsar RS200 BS6, the specification sheet on the website led many, including us, to believe that the motorcycle came with a single-channel ABS setup. According to Bajaj, that was an error and has since been corrected. The Pulsar RS 200 BS6 comes with a dual-channel ABS setup like its rivals the KTM RC 200 BS6 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6.
The Pulsar RS200 was initially available with both single-channel and dual-channel ABS. However in November last year, Bajaj later decided to go with dual-channel ABS. The same setup has been carried over in the BS6 version. This and the fact that other than a greener motor, the motorcycle remains unchanged allows Bajaj to give it a modest price hike of just Rs 3,033. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 BS6 is priced at Rs 1,44,966 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Pulsar RS200 is Bajaj’s only fully-faired motorcycle and features twin projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and LED turn indicators. It continues to use a semi-digital instrument console. The BS6-compliant motor also continues to use fuel injection but now comes with the added weight of an extra catalytic convertor. This 199.5cc liquid-cooled motor delivers 24.5PS at 9750rpm and 18.7Nm at 8000rpm. While power output remains the same, torque has gone up by 0.1Nm. Weight has gone up by 2kg though.
Underpinnings are the same perimeter frame with telescopic forks and gas-charged monoshock. Braking is via a 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It gets a 13-litre fuel tank, while ground clearance stands at 157mm. Deliveries of the motorcycle should commence once the lockdown has been lifted.
