Here’s a close look at Aprilia's latest attempt in the middleweight naked segment.

Streetfighter cousin of the Aprilia RS 660, the Aprilia Tuono 660 broke cover last week. The Tuono 660 has a boatload of electronics and the pizzaz of an Italian motorcycle. Have a look at these images to know more about the bike:

Starting from the front, the Tuono 660 gets the signature Aprilia tri-LED headlight with DRLs, and the blinkers have been neatly integrated into it.

One glance at the fairing, and you will notice the aero-winglets compactly hidden between the dual fairing.

With the handlebar positioned towards the rider and the footpegs slightly backwards, the rider triangle is well suited for spirited riding and touring.

The Aprilia Tuono 660 is powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin motor mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. It belts 96.3PS of power and 66Nm of torque.

Aprilia has loaded the Tuono 660 with electronics. The list includes multi-level traction control, selectable engine maps, wheelie control, ABS, three road-riding modes, and two track-riding modes.

You can toggle between all the options on the TFT screen using the switchgear.

Anchoring on the Aprilia Tuono is done by the dual 320mm discs at the front along with Brembo radially-mounted 4-piston callipers and a 220mm disc at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by the fully adjustable Kayaba suspension at both ends.

The Tuono 660 is shod with Pirelli’s Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres.

Aprilia offers the Tuono 660 in three paint schemes: Concept Black, Iridium Grey, and Acid Gold. The bike has been launched with a price tag of 9,700 Euros (approximately Rs 9.66 lakh) in Europe, but in India, we expect it to be priced at around Rs 12 lakh.

Aprilia’s latest launch in the Indian market is the SXR 160. We spent some time riding it and here’s what the maxi-scooter has to offer
