- The Aprilia Storm 125 could be Rs 8,000 more affordable than the SR 125.
- Unofficial bookings have already begun at select dealerships at a token amount of Rs 5,000.
- It is powered by the same 125cc engine as the Aprilia SR 125.
After showcasing the Storm 125 at the 2018 Auto Expo, Aprilia is finally all set to launch it in India tomorrow. However, the company has listed the upcoming scooter on its website with a price tag of Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price, it is the most affordable Aprilia scooter in the country. Bookings for the scooter have already commenced across select dealerships in India at a token amount of Rs 5,000.
The Storm 125 is based on Aprilia’s SR 125, but there are minor differences between both scooters. The Storm 125 features 12-inch wheels instead of the 14-inch units seen on the SR 125. These wheels are shod with dual-purpose tyres: 120/80 at the front and 130/80 at the rear. To set itself apart from its sporty sibling, the SR 125, it gets a new yellow paint scheme. Additionally, the upcoming scooter gets a grab rail.
Propelling the scooter is the same 124.49cc engine as seen on the SR 125. This motor produces 9.6PS of power and 9.9Nm of torque. The Storm 125 features drum units on both ends and CBS is offered as standard. In terms of competition, the Aprilia Storm 125 will rival the TVS NTorq 125 (Rs 58,252), Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Rs 58,500) and the Honda Grazia (Rs 60,723) (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
