The Aprilia SR 150 is now available at all Motoplex and Vespa dealerships in India with an introductory price tag of Rs 65,000.

Aprilia SR 150 Launched

Here comes the most affordable Italian machine you can buy in India now. Piaggio has finally launched the Aprilia SR 150 in the country with a tempting introductory price of Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter is now available at all Motoplex and Vespa dealerships across the country.

Aprilia Sr 150 Headlamp

Looking at the price, the scooter has been positioned below the Vespa range of scooters and it can give tough competition to offerings like the Honda Activa 125 and the new Suzuki Access 125. Coming from the house of Italian performance two-wheeler manufacturer Aprilia, the SR 150 gets characteristics of a sport bike while retaining the convenience of a scooter. The scooter gets an aerodynamic and lightweight design which looks stylish as well. It looks sleek and has an edgy bodywork along with dual headlamps which make it stand apart from the crowd.

Aprilia SR 150 Performance

Powering the Aprilia SR 150 is the single-cylinder, air-cooled, 3-valve, 154.4cc engine which also does duty on the Vespa 150s. With a carburettor-type fuel system, the motor makes 11.6PS at 7,000rpm and peak torque of 11.5Nm at 5,500rpm. On paper, these figures are lower than that of a 150cc motorcycle, however, the scooter gets the advantage of great power-to-weight ratio and is capable of crossing the 100kmph mark.

Aprilia SR 150 Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

The features of the Aprilia SR 150 further enhance the sporty appeal of the scooter while supporting its performance at the same time. It gets large 14" alloy wheels which look inspired by the popular supersport motorcycle, the Aprilia RSV4. The wheels also get wide 120/70 section performance tyres, providing excellent grip in every condition. Braking duties are handled well by a 140mm drum-type unit at the rear and a 220mm disc up front.

Aprilia SR 150 Braking

Piaggio is manufacturing the Aprilia SR 150 locally in India at its Baramati plant and that is the reason it has been priced so aggressively. However, the current price is introductory and do remember that it will be increased after a limited time period. So, if you are interested in buying this one of its kind scooter in the country, this is the best time to grab the deal.
