A brief description of Superbike races

Founded in the early year of 1988, the Superbike World Championship continues the trend till date with the most efficient brands being a part of it. Through years the Super bike competitions have become famous among the people and gives a platform to the companies for depicting the power and efficiency attached to their models. Traditionally the centre organising such races have been Europe but nowadays, the championships are also hosted by other countries like South Africa, USA, etc.

The legends of Superbike like Carl Fogarty were started as enthusiast racing when in the year 1970 first Superbike was build by Ross Hannan. Superbike racing is a road racing discipline category and is of international standards. The bikes that participates in the International event includes Ducati 1198, BMW S1000RR and some other super models with an engine capacity in between of 850 cc to 1200 cc for V-twin engines (4-stroke only) and 750 cc to 1000 cc for 4 cylindered 4 stroke engines.

The rules of the International event of Superbike says that no major modifications should be made to the bike, frame of the bike should remain same with a little changes allowed to the head light and other lights of the bike. The looks should remain same from all angles for the bike and difference should be maintained with two different models of the same company. The engine, braking system and suspension of the bike could be enhanced as per needs and new designs could be given to the rider's seat as well.

Talking for winning brands of the event, Honda has been the first winner of the championship and maintained the position for first few seasons till the V-twin engines did not take over the track with a brand tag of Ducati. Ducati with its latest and enhanced technology made a grand lead in the bike world but Honda once again in the year 2000 won the race accommodating its new Honda RC51 with a V-twin engine. And after a couple of years again the shield was in the hands of Ducati.
