Foreign two-wheeler makers have gained immense popularity these days with their machines in each and every segment. Be it a Street Fighter, Cafe Racer, SportBike or a Superbike, international bike makers have a strong foothold in the country. In fact they enjoy an immense fan following just like any Bollywood celeb of the country. Names like BMW, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Ducati, MV Agusta, Benelli etc have models in almost every displacement category of each segment and have surely gone ahead the Indian manufacturers. These foreign makers have come to the Indian automobile industry from various parts of the world. Though Italian bike makers like Ducati, MV Agusta and Benelli are in a majority due to number but other international manufacturers are also giving a good competition with their good styling and an excellent engine performance of their machines. So here we will try and analyse whether it’s Italy or Rest of the World that has totally captured Indian automobile industry.

Starting off with Italians:

The Italians

Since long, Italy has been enjoying patronage in the automobile industry. Whether in terms of design, engine power or visual appeal, this country has managed to offer excellence in every part of the bike. In fact this country has launched various brands in India and has got a tremendous response here. Ducati is a market leader in Sportbike, Streetfighter and Cafe racer's segment, Benelli is leading in Street fighter segment and MV Agusta is taking all the credit for its attractive looks, in short these Italian brands have given India a vast collection to choose from. Be it a Ducati Monster, MV Agusta Brutale or Benelli’s TNT 600, the lineup is truly awesome and can make anyone love these machines even more.

Now lets look at the offerings that come from Rest of the World

Rest of the World

Triumph, an English manufacturer dealing in all the segments of two-wheelers such as Cafe Racers, Cruisers, Sport Bike etc, has  conquered many hearts in the nation with its beautifully designed machines. The company has offered a variety of two-wheelers to impress the spectators and have managed to fulfill the expectations of the consumers. Company’s Bonneville range is quite famous along with is most awaited Thruxton R. Coming to Harley Davidson, the American two-wheeler giant has done well in cruisers segment as. Harley-Davidson bikes are mostly targeted to cater the elite class with its excellent designed cruisers. Though the company is undoubtedly famous in India but like others this company also has few downs. Inspite of being in the industry for so many years, it does not have a large customer base due to its high pricing.

BMW Motorrad, the only manufacturer from Germany is the motorcycle manufacturing arm of the well known BMW. Because of majority, Italy still leads the competition in popularity but the German two-wheeler manufacturer is in the race. BMW Motorrad has launched very uniquely designed models in the country that stand out because of their style, visual appeal and what not. After unveiling four new models at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, the company may bring new models in the market along with a few upgradations in the current lineup. Who does not know about the company’s technology? New innovations implemented by the German Giant in their machines are known to everyone and it has set a different standard in the market.

Conclusion:

Regardless of the fact who has captured the Indian market whether it is Rest of the World or Italy, India is the clear winner, as India is being catered with a variety of options and it is not easy. The competition is getting tougher and we are hoping to see many more international automakers to enter the Indian market and give a tough competition to the majority holding Italian manufacturers.
