Overview
The M 1000 R is BMW Motorrad’s most extreme naked motorcycle, built with the heart of a race-ready superbike, and designed for riders who want the thrill of racetrack performance in a street bike. Born from the M 1000 RR, this bike features cutting-edge technology and an aggressive design, making it one of the most powerful and capable roadsters ever built by BMW.
BMW M 1000 R Price
The standard variant of 2025 BMW M 1000 R is priced at Rs 33 lakh, while the Competition variant is priced at Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW M 1000 R Colour Options
The BMW M 1000 R is offered in 2 colours: the standard is offered in Light White/M Motorsport, while the Competition comes in Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport.
BMW M 1000 R Variants
BMW offers the M 1000 R in 2 variants: Standard and Competition variant. The Competition adds various carbon fibre parts, more electronic rider aids, and a titanium exhaust.

BMW M 1000 R Design
The BMW M 1000 R has a muscular and aggressive design, with winglets on both sides at the front to generate downforce at high speeds. The headlight is compact, sharp and minimalistic - flanked by DRLs and an adaptive cornering light system (which turns as per the direction you’re heading). The Competition variant stands out with carbon panels across the body, including the tank, chain guard, and airbox cover. The handlebar-end mirrors and the sculpted fuel tank with deep knee recesses - all contribute to the performance-oriented aesthetic.

BMW M 1000 R Engine
The BMW M 1000 R is powered by a Euro 5+ compliant 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four cylinder engine with ShiftCam technology (variable valve timing). This engine produces 210PS at 13,750rpm, 113Nm at 11,100rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter. It has a claimed top speed of 280kmph and 0-200kmph time of 7.2 seconds. The Competition variant adds a Titanium exhaust system.

BMW M 1000 R Chassis, Brakes, Wheels, Suspension
The BMW M 1000 R has a cast aluminium bridge frame that uses the engine as a stressed member. It has a 45mm inverted fork and a monoshock - both electronic and fully adjustable, with 120mm of travel at front and 117mm at the rear. It gets twin 300mm discs at the front with radially mounted 4-piston calipers, and a 220mm disc at the rear with a single-piston caliper. The bike rides on 17-inch forged aluminium wheels in the Standard variant and carbon fibre wheels in the Competition model. Tyres measure 120-section at the front and 200-section at the rear. It has a seat height of 830mm, 16.5-litre fuel tank, and a kerb weight of 199kg - which drops to 194kg on the Competition variant.

BMW M 1000 R Features
The BMW M 1000 R gets all-LED lighting, cornering headlight with adaptive high beam, and a 6.5-inch full colour TFT console with smartphone connectivity, navigation, and it also displays the lean angle. It has 6 riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1, 2 & 3. Rider aids include cruise control, launch control, pit lane limiter, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, engine brake control, dynamic brake control, suspension damping control, and hill start control. It also gets adjustable brake and clutch levers, immobilizer, keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring, USB type-C charge port, heated seat and grips. Interestingly, it also gets an easily detachable rear licence plate holder, and the Competition variant adds a GPS enabled lap timer.

BMW M 1000 R Competition
The BMW M 1000 R rivals other top tier streetfighter bikes like the Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory 1100, Ducati Streetfighter V4, Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, KTM 1390 Super Duke R and Kawasaki Z H2 in the 1000+cc naked segment. It costs more than all its rivals, close to double - as it is more of a road-legal race bike version of the standard BMW S 1000 R.
