Ultraviolette X47 Crossover - Introduction

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is the newest electric motorcycle from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer. It is positioned as an all-rounder that offers accessible performance for everyday use, compared to the sporty Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and the Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet. We explain the top 5 differences between the two.  It features a new design and also comes with a few unique features, which we are seeing for the first time on an Ultraviolette bike. Here’s all you need to know about the new electric tourer from Ultraviolette.
On May 26, 2026 Ultraviolette launched a more affordable base variant of the X-47 Crossover in India.

Design & Quality

Ultraviolette has gone with a unique design for the X47 Crossover, which makes it stand apart from the F77 lineup. The bike gets a beak-like fender, a tall windscreen and sharp-looking extensions, giving the bike a ADV-like look. The addition of a wide handlebar and relatively forward-set footpegs further differentiates the bike from the F77 lineup. But the smaller 17-inch alloy wheels make it clear that it is more of a road-biased motorcycle than a hardcore off-roader. The bike also has a taller profile overall and feels quite large up close. During my time with this bike, I’ve had people come up to me and ask me about the bike, which was a pleasant surprise. So the bike doesn’t fail to attract attention from the public, which is quite nice. Here’s how it looks in comparison to the KTM 250 Adventure

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Colours

The X47 Crossover is offered in 3 colours: Shadow Cosmic Black, Airstrike Stellar White and Laser Turbo Red. Out of the 3, we liked the Laser Turbo Red the most because it brings out the bike’s aggressive character the most.  The brand is also offering the bike in a special Desert Wing colour scheme, which looks quite subtle. It comes with all the optional accessories offered with the bike as standard. It also features some special Desert Wing liveries, which make it stand out from the other 3 colours.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Build Quality

The build quality of the motorcycle is quite good, and the bike feels well put together. The switchgear quality is also quite good.

Features & Practicality

The bike gets a TFT console, which has a clean layout and is easy to read. It offers speed, time, battery level, along with trip and odometer readouts. The console has decent levels of brightness, and the rider also has the option to adjust it. This adds a level of versatility, making it possible for the rider to adjust the brightness depending on the lighting conditions, for better readability.

The X47 Crossover is a heavy motorcycle, with a kerb weight of 207kg (Recon variant) and is quite difficult to move around. But Ultraviolette has offered Park Assist, which includes a reverse mode and a forward mode. This makes it easy to manage the bike while moving it in and out of the parking. We think this feature is the most useful one offered here, as it makes it so much easier to manage a heavy bike like this.

The bike also comes with a 9-level regenerative braking system, which tries to mimic engine braking on a petrol-powered motorcycle. The system charges the bike’s battery when decelerating and helps in slowing down the bike without putting too much strain on the brakes. During my time with the bike on track, I found level 4 regen to offer a good balance, while also feeling easier to use.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Safety Features

The Ultraviolette X47 is the first bike in the Ultraviolette lineup to feature a rear-facing radar, which offers 270 degrees of coverage. The radar system offers collision warnings, lane-change alerts, and blind-spot detection via telltale lights on the mirrors and warning lights on the console. The system does help in improving rider safety by improving overall situational awareness. I personally found the blind spot detection and overtake alerts to be the most useful. But the collision warning alert in the current form is not very practical. The collision warning alerts are displayed on the console and the tell-tale lights on the mirrors in the form of a red flashing light. But it is easy to miss if you’re not constantly looking at the console and mirrors. We hope the brand plans on bringing integration with helmet intercom sets, so the rider can get audio alerts instead of just visual ones, as it currently is. It’s quite a long list of features, but here are top 5 features of the Ultraviolette X 47.

Ultraviolette is also offering a dual-dash cam setup as an optional accessory. This setup brings a front and rear-facing camera, along with a second screen mounted above the console. The cameras record your rides at 1, 3, and 5 minutes long durations, storing the recorded data on the on-board storage. The videos can be exported to your phone via the Ultraviolette app. Overall, this system is a neat addition, which makes it easy to get recordings of your ride without having to invest in a separate helmet-mounted action camera.

Rider & Pillion Comfort

The Ultraviolette X47 offers an upright riding posture, with the wide handlebars and the relatively mid-set footpegs. The riding posture is quite comfortable and doesn’t put any strain on the rider. The seat padding is also well done, and the rider can sit and ride for long distances without feeling uncomfortable. The seat also has a long and wide profile, which allows it to accommodate riders of all sizes.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Pillion Comfort

The pillion seat is quite spacious and well-padded, just like the rider’s seat. Pillion riders can easily sit for longer durations without feeling uncomfortable. However, the only issue is the slightly raised profile, which can make it feel tricky for some pilions to hop on.

Performance & Range

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is offered in two motor configurations: 27kW and 30kW. We tested the variant with the 30kW motor, and it offers really exciting performance. The bike comes with 3 modes: Ballistic, Combat and Glide. During my time with the bike, I found the initial 0-60 kmph acceleration to be thrilling in Ballistic mode. The Glide mode felt a lot more tapered down and easier to manage for newer riders. The Combat mode was like a middle ground between the Ballistic mode and the Glide Mode. Overall, the X47 is a really exciting motorcycle, and manages to bring a kind of thrill that you just can’t get on any other petrol-powered bike in the same price range. The instant availability of torque with the electric motor really does make a difference in the real world.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: City Performance

While riding in the city, I personally found the Glide mode to be more suited to the task as it offers linear acceleration. The tapered-down power delivery makes the X47 easier to manage in stop-and-go traffic compared to the Ballistic and Combat modes. The bike has good low-end torque, which makes it easy to ride in slow-speed traffic. The lack of a gearbox also made the whole thing a less tiresome affair, as I didn’t have to worry about constantly working the clutch and shifting gears.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Highway Performance

Cruising at highway speeds of 80kmph is easy, and the motor doesn’t feel like it lacks power at this range. But compared to the initial acceleration from 0 to 60kmph, the bike can feel a bit sluggish. In Ballistic mode, the highway performance is slightly better compared to the other two, but you’ll be sacrificing range for performance. In my opinion, putting the bike in Combat mode while cruising down the highways is best, as it manages to offer a good mix of range and performance.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Battery & Range

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is offered in two battery packs: a 7.1kWh battery pack offering a range of 212km and a 10.3kWh variant offering a range of 323km. For this review, we tested out the Recon variant of the X47, and it comes with a 10.3kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 323km. We weren’t able to conduct a full range test, so we cannot say for certain what the real-world range will be like. We will be conducting the test once we get the bike for a proper road test.

Right now, the brand is offering 4 charging options and here’s a detailed breakdown of the charging times:

Charger

Time (20-80%)

Time (0-100%)

Standard Portable Charger

3 Hours

5 Hours

On-board Charger

2 Hours 40 Minutes

4 Hours

Boost Charger

1 Hour 20 Minutes

2 Hours

Supernova charger

40 Minutes

1 Hour

The on-board charger is the most convenient option out of the four, and is offered as an optional accessory. The charging brick is installed into the bike’s subframe, and this effectively reduces the charger to a simple cable that you can carry around in your bag. We think the brand should have offered this as standard.

Ride Quality & Handling

We had a chance to ride the X47 Crossover at GP1 Performance Zone in Bengaluru, and the bike really impressed us with its handling. It was quite agile and nimble, and tipped into corners effortlessly. The wide handlebars offered good leverage while changing directions, and our experience with the bike on the track was quite enjoyable. This should translate well into the real world, where the agile and nimble nature of the bike should let it cut through city traffic with ease. While at the same time also being fun on the twisties.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Tyres

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover gets dual-purpose tyres from MRF. The tyres feature a block pattern design in the middle, while the tyre lips get a normal road pattern. This offers a good mix of off and on-road performance. During our time with the bike on the track, we were able to corner with great confidence as the tyres offered good grip.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Brakes

The braking performance was quite impressive, offering a good initial stopping power and feel from the levers. The only issue I faced was the excessive ABS intervention when braking hard while riding on track. But for regular road riding, this should not be a problem.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Ride Quality

The suspension tuning on this bike has been done in such a way that it manages to strike a balance between good handling and ride quality. Most of the small bumps and potholes on the road are absorbed well, and the ride quality is decently plush. This makes the bike a more practical choice compared to the F77 Mach 2, which has a stiffer suspension setup.

Verdict

The Ultraviolette X47 feels like a perfect mix of fun and practicality. The performance is quite thrilling, the handling is amazing, and the comfort level is unmatched by other bikes in the brand’s lineup. If you are someone who is looking for a bike which gives you an experience of what the future of motorcycling may look like, then the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is worth considering. It will easily be able to meet all your daily commuting and touring needs with ease, and the addition of high-tech features like the rear-facing radar makes this bike the safest one in India. However, we are quite disappointed that the brand didn’t decide to offer the on-board charger as standard across all variants. If that’s a bit confusing, here’s an explainer on all the Ultraviolette X47 variants.

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover: Price

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is offered in 6 variants with the following prices:

At the starting price of Rs 2.49 lakh, the X-47 Crossover is priced similarly to petrol-powered bikes in the 250-300cc segment like the KTM 250 Adventure and TVS Apache RTX 300. Thanks to Ultraviolette's new battery subscription plan, the starting price for X-47 is now as low as Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom).

Competitors

The X47 Crossover is a unique motorcycle, and there are not many petrol-powered bikes which can replicate the same feeling. But if you are considering petrol-powered alternatives, then we would recommend looking at tourers like the KTM 250 Adventure and TVS Apache RTX 300. You can also consider naked bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 310 or the KTM 250 Duke.

    V Good Bike

Premium build, starts from 2.5 to 4 lakh. Price increase with warranty and range. I chose for few reasons 1) hill control 2) regent breaking 3) aesthetics) Premium build 4) Indian start up 5) very low centre of gravity 6) sticks to road due to heavy weight and traction control. Very comfortable, bit costly but worth it, service is good. They visit home to serve by taking 10 rs per km. Low maintenance, shockers are very good, load of safety features, hill hold , very practical feature, park assist, regent breaks, traction control. Daily ride is minimum 30 km, saves petrol if you ride more, home charging facility. For touring one way 170 km is ok, to charge and return back. Very economical, though initial investment is more, but if you ride heavily you will find it cheap in long run. Warranty for recon plus ( rs 4 lakh) goes to 8 lakh km or 8 years by paying 45000 extra, Without that its 5 year or 5 lakh km.Read More

    Best Purchase Of My Life

Awesome power delivery and safety features. Best for city commuting and also medium offroading. Pillion riding is also good. Add on features like tpms and rear and front camera is like a good upgrade. Original variant is enough for a guy with daily ride of 70km per day average. For long touring and if having range anxiety go for recon or recon plus model. I plan my rides properly so i all end up only using at 20 percentage remaining. Best for bad roads and cities and also highways. This bike is a cross over so any rider can choose it for there benefits. It has got switchable traction control as well as abs also. Best range is achieved in the city with regeneration on at level 9.Read More
