Vespa has launched a new 125cc scooter called the Urban Club. It uses the same iconic Vespa scooter bodywork but can be differentiated by its subtle black trims on the mirror, grab rail and brake levers. It also gets black alloy wheels from the Vespa Notte. The new scooter is available in four colour schemes: Azzurro Provenza (light blue), Maze Grey, Glossy Yellow and Glossy Red. It misses out on Vespa’s Bluetooth connectivity but that can be had as an optional extra. The new Vespa scooter is priced at Rs 72,190 is Rs 2,160 more than the most affordable Vespa, the Notte which retails for Rs 70,030 (both prices ex-showroom Pune). It basically has the same features and specs as the Notte, but for Rs 2,160 more you get more colour options.

Other than the colour update, the Vespa Urban Club uses the same powertrain and underpinnings as the rest of the Vespa 125cc models. It’s powered by a 125cc air-cooled motor that delivers 9.65PS and 9.9Nm of torque, coupled with a CVT automatic gearbox.

The scooter is based on a monocoque chassis and gets a bottom-link type front and rear monoshock. To keep the price down, the Vespa Urban Club misses out on a front disc brake and instead gets a 150mm front drum brake and 140mm rear drum brake. It also misses out on tubeless tyres.

The Vespa Urban Club then is the most affordable Vespa you can buy in India in colours other than black.
