What’s new?
The River Indie now comes in two new colours: Storm Grey and Winter White, which brings the total available colours as five: Yellow, Blue, Red, Grey and White. What’s unchanged?
The River Indie remains the same in terms of design. The square dual-LED lights and panels, long seat and the boxy design remains the same. The scooter continues to get a 4kWh li-ion battery pack which is paired to a mid-mounted motor producing 6.7kW and 26Nm. River claims the Indie has a claimed top-speed of 90kmph and will do the 0-40kmph sprint in 3.9 seconds. The scooter has a claimed IDC range of 161km and will take 5 hours to charge from 0-80 percent using a standard wall charger.
In terms of features, the Indie gets a 6-inch LCD instrument cluster with automatic brightness control, a massive 43 litres underseat storage which gets LED light along with a 12 litre glovebox which can be locked and a USB charging port. River also provides an additional USB port on the handlebar as well. Other notable features include a pair of rider footpegs, crash bars integrated into the apron, saddle stays, raised clip-on handlebars, hazard lights, and a side-stand motor cut-off function. The River Indie gets a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers, dual disc brakes and 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

Price and Rivals
The updated River Indie is now a tad bit more expensive, priced at Rs 1,42,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) which is Rs 5,000 more expensive than before. Though the scooter is only available in a select few cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Coimbatore. The Indie goes against the likes of Ola S1 Pro, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Vida V1.
