Upcoming Ola Electric Bike Teased, Testing Starts

The bike’s battery and motor were also teased a few days ago. It is likely to be chain-driven and have Ola’s in-house developed battery pack

Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal shared a video on his X handle (formerly Twitter), teasing the upcoming Ola electric bike, where he can be seen riding the upcoming electric bike.

In the video, the bike appears to be a smaller roadster, similar to the Ola roadster showcased earlier, as Bhavish can be seen sitting comfortably with an upright body posture. Not many parts or components of the bike are visible, however, we can clearly see that the bike has a simple single-piece handlebar and an LED headlight.

Upcoming Ola Electric Bike: What to Expect?

A few days back, Bhavish also teased the battery pack and motor of the upcoming Ola electric bike. The image revealed several details, including the battery pack which is positioned where the fuel tank is usually placed. The compact electric motor sits below it. Moreover, the presence of a front sprocket and a chain in the pic indicates the bike is chain-driven. The bike may feature an in-house developed lithium-ion battery pack that Ola Electric is currently working on.

We believe Ola will first launch an affordable electric bike with performance comparable to a 125cc petrol-powered bike. The upcoming Ola electric bike is likely to compete with the likes of Revolt RV 400, Tork Kratos R, Oben Rorr and Matter Aera.

Upcoming Ola Electric Bike: Expected Launch Date & Price

Earlier, Bhavish revealed that a few variants of the Ola electric bikes will be launched by early 2025. This aligns with the first Ola electric bike launch timeline revealed in the brand’s IPO (Initial Public Offering) documents which suggests that the bike deliveries will begin in the first half of fiscal year 2026.

We expected the final production version to be showcased on this Independence Day, on August 15, 2024, while the launch could be somewhere around late 2024 or early 2025. It could be priced somewhere between Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
