Bengaluru based electric startup Ultraviolette Automotive has received a fresh dose of funding from TVS Motors. The Ultraviolette F77 gets sporty looking sharp bodywork and impressive underpinnings. It is powered by a 25kW AC electric motor that offers 33.5PS and 90Nm of torque. Ultraviolette claims the F77 can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 2.9 seconds and 0-100kmph in 7.5 seconds. These timings are on par with the Bajaj Dominar 400. It gets 3 removable battery packs that swivel out from a compartment in the middle and together offer a range of 150km.

Interestingly, TVS also has an electric scooter in its portfolio called the iQube. Given the investment, we expect some form of knowledge sharing between TVS and Ultraviolette. The Ultraviolette F77 is expected to be priced around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.25 lakh. Bookings for the motorcycle are open in Bengaluru while deliveries are expected to start by October. It is not just TVS who has an interest in Ultraviolette though. According to our sources, the Bengaluru based startup is set to receive another heavy dose of funding soon. Stay tuned for more info.
