Here's how the newly arrived e-bike stacks up against one of India’s fastest e-scooters

Tork Motors has finally launched the Kratos electric bike in India, and while it doesn't have any direct rival, it has to fend off some competition from the Ather 450X electric scooter.

Let's see how these two offerings of different kinds compare on paper in this visual comparison.

We start with the design. Thanks to their sharp body panels, the Tork Kratos and the Ather 450X look equally sporty.

The Kratos has a triangular LED headlight with DRLs and LED turn indicators, while the Ather 450X gets a diamond-shaped LED headlight with slim LED turn indicators.

At their sides, both EVs look minimalistic. The Ather 450X gets a single-piece seat, while the Kratos has a split-type setup. The tail section of both is lean, featuring an LED taillight.

Now, to the features. The Tork Kratos gets a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation. The company says that this system will receive OTA updates. Other notable features include a USB charging port, anti-theft system, regenerative braking, storage space at the front, crash alert, ride analytics, and guide-me-home lights.

The Ather 450X, on the other hand, features a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth and app connectivity. This instrument cluster displays call alerts and music control. Moreover, it also gets integrated 4G LTE SIM connectivity, access to Google Maps, and in-built storage.

The Tork Kratos is powered by a 4KWh IP67-rated battery that lends the e-bike a maximum range of 180km and a practical range of 120km. Powering the Ather 450X is a 2.9KWh lithium-ion battery that gives the e-scooter a claimed range of 85km in 'Eco' mode.

The Ather 450X is propelled by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that puts out 6kW and 26Nm while giving it a top speed of 80km. The e-scooter also gets four riding modes (Eco, Warp, Sport, and Ride).

On the other hand, the Tork Kratos uses a PMAC motor that churns out 7.5kWand 28Nm, lending it a top speed of 100km. The Kratos also features multiple riding modes and a reverse mode.

Both EVs get regenerative braking and are suspended on a front telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. The braking hardware is also identical -- disc brakes at both ends, further assisted by a combi-braking system (CBS).

The standard Kratos is only available in a white shade, but the Kratos R is offered in four paint options: white, blue, red, and black. The Ather 450X has three color options: Space Grey, White, and Mint Green.

The Kratos and the Kratos R are priced at Rs 1,02,499 and 1,17,499 (ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME II and state subsidies). Meanwhile, the Ather 450X will set you back by Rs 1,38,006 (ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME II and state subsidies).
