Finally the wait is over as Legendary bike manufacturer, Royal Enfield has launched the second generation Thuderbird in two variants Thunderbird 500 and 350  at Rs. 1,82,572 and Rs. 1,43,346 respectively (Prices are on-road Mumbai). Royal Enfield Thunderbird is one of the best cruisers available in the country and the second generation of the bike is even better, as it is more tech-savvy and advanced as compare to its predecessor and competitors. They haven't just placed in a larger engine but it is the whole new generation of this legendary bike, it now gets a significant overhaul along with a new heart. A new, split-design seat, projector headlamps, LED tail lights and a larger fuel tank are the more apparent changes here. And for the first time they also have tweaked the chassis a little, added an eliptical section swingarm and beefier forks up front to make the bike handier. There is also a significant change made in braking, which has always been the weakest point in RE bikes, but this time you've got a system from Brembo, the world renowned braking experts, so you can rest assured it will stop as well as it will go.

Moreover we can make out from the pics that the seat on the new version of the Thunderbird has been completely redesigned to suit the new position of the foot pegs, and it can be opened using a lock mechanism, accessible through the side panel.  Also you can remove the pillion seat to accommodate luggage, just like the RE Classic 500. The bike also gets a new handle-bar for better ergonomics and the pillion grab rail is now an all new pressure die cast unit.

The bike comes with a powerful 55W projector lamp for its low beam and a 55W halogen bulb for the high beam and the riders would be impressed by the large 20L fuel tank capacity that this bike offers. The tank cap is placed asymmetrically on the top right hand side of the tank, instead of the conventional central mounting.  By the help of fuel injection technology and larger oil tank, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 claims to cover 500km at one go, whereas Thunderbird 350 to cover 600km. The instrument binnacle is also new, which is the first analog-digital tachometer from Royal Enfield.
