Ola Electric launched the Roadster X e-bike series back on 15th August, 2024, and now finally the brand is all set to start the deliveries this month. At a price of Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant, the Roadster X series offer great range and performance on paper.
The Ola Roadster X series is available in 3 variants, the Roadster X, Roadster X Plus and Roadster X Plus 9.1kWh. They are being manufactured at Ola’s manufacturing plant called ‘Future Factory’ at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
Pricing
The Ola Roadster X is available in three variants: 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh. The Roadster X 2.5kWh variant is priced at Rs 84,999, the 3.5kWh variant costs Rs 94,999 and the top 4.5kWh variant is available for Rs 1,04,999 (all prices ex-showroom). The Roadster X Plus is available in 2 sub-variants: 4.5kWh and 9.1kWh. The former is available for Rs 1,14,999, whereas the latter is priced at Rs 1,84,999 (all prices ex-showroom). The prices of the Roadster X and X Plus are Rs 5,000 less than the launch prices, while the Roadster X Plus’s price has gone up by Rs 20,000.

In terms of features the Roadster X and Roadster X Plus gets a 4.3-inch colour LCD screen. It supports smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, remote unlocking, among other features. There are also multiple ride modes: Eco, Normal and Sports. The Roadster X Plus gets a reverse mode and cruise control as well.
The Ola Roadster X and X Plus gets a conventional telescopic fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. For braking, there are drum brakes at both ends while the Roadster X Plus gets a front disc and rear drum brake while all of them get CBS as standard (combined braking system).

While Ola Electric offers several variants, the brand has not specified which one in particular has hit the roads. We believe Ola might start off with the lower variant first, followed by the more expensive ones phase-wise. Will they be flawless in terms of their functionality? Will they be able to consistently achieve a real-world range that’s good enough to impress petrol-powered commuter bike buyers? We’ll have to wait and see.
