The XADV300i seems to pack equipment that might just give it serious off-roading credentials

We all are familiar with Chinese two-wheeler manufacturers blatantly copying original designs. The most recent one is Longjia with its XADV300i, unveiled at the 2022 Shenzhen Motor Expo. The scooter has “taken inspiration” from the Honda X-ADV 150, and here’s everything we know about it:

The Longjia scooter’s rugged design seems to be quite practical. You get a quad-LED headlight setup along with a pair of auxiliary lights near the footboard. Another variant of the Longjia XADV300i comes with panniers and more protection, meant particularly for the long-distance tripper.

Powering this Chinese ADV scooter is a 278cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor dishing out 25PS and 24.5Nm. Longjia claims a top speed of 124kmph for the XADV300i.

It features a full-digital console with a speedometer, odometer, fuel level, and time and temperature, among other details.

Even the underpinnings seem pretty sophisticated; you get a KYB inverted fork and gas-charged twin rear shocks. Braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends with J Juan callipers and standard dual-channel ABS for added safety.

The XADV300i gets block-pattern tyres wrapped around 13-inch wheels. While these, combined with a ground clearance of 160mm, is far from “fully off-road-capable”, it should be enough to comfortably ride over broken, uneven terrain.

The scooter tips the scales at 169kg (kerb), which is really light for a fully loaded offering like itself. It also gets a massive 13.5-litre fuel tank and adequate underseat storage for a full-size helmet.

The Longjia XADV300i seems desirable at first glance, but we don’t see it landing on Indian soil anytime soon (or ever). However, if you fancy proper maxi scooters, we suggest you check out the recently launched Yamaha Aerox 155. And if you like your maxi scooter with maxi engines, you’ll have to wait for the BMW C 400 GT
