We have a decent idea of what we can expect from the upcoming bikes thanks to leaked documents
KTM and Husqvarana have been working on launching two electric bikes and they will be called KTM Electric Freeride and Husqvarna Electric Pioneer, according to leaked documents. They will likely be launched by 2025.
The electric bikes are likely to be derivatives of the currently available KTM Freeride E-XC electric off-road bike, and could feature a similar design and styling. That said, details about the bikes are very few, but the leaked documents, which were submitted to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have revealed very few interesting bits.
As of now we know that the bikes will be powered by a 5.54kWh li-ion battery pack. We expect both the bikes to come with swappable batteries as KTM is a founding member of the European Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium.
KTM in the past was planning on launching a road-legal version of the Freeride E-XC called the Freeride E LV and it was supposed to offer a nominal power output of 9kW or 12.2PS. The upcoming KTM Electric Freeride and Husqvarna Electric Pioneer could match that.
Both the bikes are expected to come at a price that is around 10,000 Euros ex-showroom, which is Rs 9,16,120.
The leaked document also revealed that Husqvarna is planning on launching a Vitpilen 801 to complement the Svartpilen 801. This is a welcome move and will offer potential customers a wider range of options to choose from. The Vitpilen 801 could come with a roadster/cafe racer like styling whereas the Svartpilen 801 will be more of a scrambler style bike.
