KTM 1290 Super Duke R: The Beast Unveiled

The Austrian auto giant and the largest motorcycle manufacturer of the European market, KTM has officially unveiled its biggest and the wildest beast, 1290 Super Duke R. The website dedicated to the bike(1290superduker.com) has special 10 sections to be unlocked one by one. Currently, 2 sections have been unveiled, the special 1 section contains the pictures, wallpapers and specifications, while the second section contains the video of the beast.

The bike is looking brutal with its muscular fuel tank on its naked chassis. The artistry has been showed in every component of the bike, be it the CroMo steel tubular space frame, the single-sided swing-arm, the fork or the shock absorber. Every component is well crafted and perfectly arranged.

It uses WP-USD Ø 48 mm forks at the front, while WP-Mono shock at the rear. This advanced adjustable suspension system matches well with the performance of the bike. Its low-pressure, die cast wheels are good not only in looks, bur are very stable and light to enhance the performance. Its special tailor made Dunlop Sportsmart² tyres don't looses grip in any condition, while giving a perfect steering response.

It is the most powerful naked roadster with a 1290cc, 75 degree V-twin engine, which churns out a maximum power of 180bhp and delivers a peak torque of 144Nm with 100Nm as early as 2500rpm. The machine is capable to touch the 0 to 200kmph mark in just 7.2 seconds. When the bike is such fast, it needs a good braking system, so the 1290 Super Duke R comes with the best Brembo's M50 monoblock callipers with its dual 320mm brake disks in the front and 240mm brake disk at the rear. The braking system is assisted by an advanced ABS system to get racing-level deceleration.

The acceleration is also advanced with the ultimate electronic throttle response. Its traction control system with the Bosch and Keihin ride-by-wire system works in 4 different modes such as Street, Sport, Plus, and Rain, using an easy switching. Street: sporty but effective, always appropriate and super-swift, Sport: The full works, with sharp teeth and controlled drift feeling, Plus: Supermoto ABS for all pure drifters and Rain: smooth, limited power, with early intervening traction control.

With such highly advanced technologies, 1290 Super Duke R is highly economical with the fuel and has a service interval of 15,000kms. All these qualities make it an unbeatable naked machine, and now we are waiting for the next special sections to be unlocked.
