Honda SP125: Features Explained
The Honda SP125 is not only a sportier version of the Honda Shine 125, but is feature packed as well. Here’s a full explanation of all the useful features
The Honda SP125 looks sharp, is fuel-efficient, and also has just about enough features to make daily commutes stress-free. It comes in two variants: STD and DLX, priced at Rs 89,279 and Rs 96,866 (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. Let's break down what the SP125 offers.
Convenience Features
The main attraction of the SP125 DLX is its full-colour TFT instrument console. It automatically adjusts brightness for day, and also comes with night mode. It provides a wealth of information. This includes a gear position indicator, real-time fuel efficiency, average mileage, and distance-to-empty, along with standard readouts (speedometer, odometer, tripmeters, clock and fuel gauge).
Along with this, it comes with Honda RoadSync system. This uses Bluetooth to connect the motorcycle to a smartphone, enabling turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, music controls directly on the console. These functions are managed via the left switchgear, reducing the need for a rider to check their phone. The standard variant, in contrast, uses a simpler full-LCD unit that covers the basics but lacks the premium feel and advanced data of the turn-by-turn navigation. That said, it’s also reasonably info-packed with mileage indicator, gear position indicator clock and other usual readouts.
Both variants include a 15W USB-C port just behind the headlight cowl, under the handlebar. There’s also a silent starter, which provides silent engine starts without the typical gear-meshing sound. The Idling Stop System (ISS) automatically switches the engine off during brief halts in traffic and restarts it with a simple twist of the throttle, contributing to fuel savings in city conditions.
Safety Features
On the safety front, the Honda SP125 is equipped with a combined braking system which distributes a portion of braking forces to the front when the rear brake is applied. While the base variant gets a 130mm drum at both ends, the DLX variant comes with a front 240mm disc (same rear drum). While this substantially improves the braking performance, it still does not have a single-channel ABS. The side stand engine cut-off is handy as it prevents the engine from running in gear when the side stand is down.
BikeDekho Says
The Honda SP125 gets the bare basics pretty right. While fancier features like navigation are reserved for the DLX variant, the base variant still doesn’t compromise all that much. That said, we’d recommend the DLX variant solely for the fact that it has a front disc, which really makes a difference on a day-to-day basis. Furthermore, you can also modify your Honda SP 125 with a range of official accessories.

I was looking for a 125cc bike, upon reaching finalized to 2 options sp125 and TVS raider. Raider was sportier and done a test drive for both. I previously owned a TVS jupiter, service of TVS was pathetic. Finally concluded to buy sp125. Excellent mileage getting around 79 to 81 mixed driving condition city and highway. Drive around 100 to 150km per day. Only issue I faced is the seat, It's not comfortable. I have driven many scooter's/bike's and it's the worst seat of all. I would definitely recommend this bike if you are looking for a bike with excellent mileage. It's a 125cc bike, if you drive accordingly to that you can squeeze more mileage out of it. If you drive aggressively don't expect mileage. You have to modify the seat or any alternative arrangements to make the drive more comfortable. Read More
