Hero launched its first BS6-compliant scooter in India, the Pleasure Plus FI BS6. It is priced at Rs 54,800 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant. This makes the newly launched scooter dearer than the BS4 Hero Pleasure Plus by Rs 6,300. So which scooter makes sense to buy now?
You should buy the Hero Pleasure Plus FI BS6 because….
The Hero Pleasure Plus FI BS6 features fuel-injection. This results in crisper throttle response and cleaner emissions and more convenient cold starts. The 110cc BS6-compliant motor makes 8.15PS at 7000rpm and peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5500rpm. In comparison, the BS4 model produces the same amount of power 500rpm later, and the peak torque along with the rpm at which it arrives remains the same as the BS6 model. Hero claims the Pleasure Plus FI BS6 offers a 10per cent better acceleration and at the same time, a 10per cent better mileage too.

The scooter is available in both steel wheels and alloy wheel variants. The former costs Rs 54,800, whereas the latter will set you back by Rs 56,800. Both prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The alloy wheel variant gets chrome surround on the headlamp, chrome accents on the side panels and a chromed-out 3D logo. But apart from these changes, the scooter remains the same as the BS4 model. That means you get the same underpinnings: trailing link front suspension, single rear shock absorber, 10-inch wheels and 130mm drum on both ends with CBS.
You should buy the Hero Pleasure Plus BS4 because…
The primary reason why you should buy the BS4 Hero Pleasure Plus is that it is more affordable than the BS6 model by Rs 6,300. It costs Rs 50,500 for the alloy wheel variant and Rs 48,500 for the steel wheel variant. Also, since it’s will soon be phased out once the BS6-emission norms kick in from April onwards, there will be a higher chance of certain dealers offering discounts to clear out the remaining stock. So you might get an even better overall deal. Apart from acceleration and mileage, the scooter is pretty much the same as the BS6 model, so you don’t lose out on that much, feature-wise.
