Hero MotoCorp Introduce i3S, IBS and Engine Immobilizer in the Upcoming Range

Recently we introduced you to the upcoming 2014 Hero MotoCorp motorcycles. The new models were showcased during a global marketing and sales conference in Macau, Where the company announced to use 3 new technologies in their upcoming 2014 range of motorcycles. These technologies include the i3S, IBW and Engine Immobilizer. The company also introduced a new scooter in the conference, which is expected to be launched within 6 months.

Hero MotoCorp's i3S is not an all new technology, it is the same engine 'Start Stop System', which you can find in some cars also. The system stops your engine when it is idling in traffic or red light and restarts it as you accelerate your vehicle. The technology helps to reduce the fuel consumption by reducing the engine idle time. The popular Splendor series of the company will be equipped with the technology and called iSplendor. The bike shown in the picture is Splendor iSmart, which is a technology revised version of the current Splendor NXG.

IBS is the Integrated Braking System, which acctuates both the front and rear brakes of the vehicle when the rear brakes are applied. The system is very similar to their erstwhile partner, Honda's Combie Brake System (CBS). The technology will be used in the 2014 models of their automatic scooters Pleasure and Maestro. The scooters also share the engine with the previous version of popular Honda Activa.

Everyone is aware of the Engine Immobilizer technology, it uses a micro-chip integrated key, which matches with the code entered in the bike's security system. When anybody tries to unlock your bike using a false key, the engine will automatically immobilize. The system will be used in the 2014 range of company over 150cc. Facelifted Xtreme is one such bike that the company has confirmed to offer this technology with.

Hero says that all these innovations have been developed independently by the company in their own R&D centre. However, the all new products to be launched in 2014 will be developed with the new technology partners- Erik Buell Racing, Engines Engineering and AVL.
