Hero Electric has unveiled its first electric motorcycle called the AE-47 at the 2020 Auto Expo. The upcoming motorcycle gets performance and features to rival the Revolt RV 400. Here's an image gallery detailing what the new electric motorcycle packs.
The AE47 is similar in size to the Revolt RV 400 packs in a different design. It looks like a retro motorcycle.
The round headlamp gets the LED treatment. It has an uncanny similarity to the Honda CB300R.
Even the tail lamp is similar to that of the Japanese naked.
It is not just external lighting but also the full-digital instrument console that seems lifted off the Honda CB300R. It has Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone app support, keyless access, real-time tracking, and geo-fencing features.
It gets a 4kW electric hub motor. Hero claims an acceleration time from 0-60kmph in 9 seconds and a top speed of 85kmph.
The AE-47 e-Motorcycle gets electronic rider aids like 2 rider modes:Eco and Power as well as cruise control, crawl assist and a reverse mode.
Power comes from a 3.5kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. Hero claims a range of 160km in Eco mode and 85km in Eco mode. The battery will be fully charged in 4 hours.
Suspension setup includes an upside down fork and monoshock. Braking is via a 290mm front disc and a 215mm rear disc. It gets combined braking as standard.
The wheels are 17-inch 110-section front and 140-section rear Yuanxing tyres. The Chinese tyres could be swapped for a locally sourced ones on the production model.
Hero Electric will launch the AR-47 electric motorcycle by the end of this year. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh. The Hero Electric AE-47 will compete with the Revolt RV400.
