The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 rival is likely to be launched in March 2023
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 rival is likely to be launched in March 2023
Just a couple of months after it was spied testing, the BSA Gold Star has been spotted in India, once again. The bike was earlier unveiled at the 2021 NEC Birmingham Motorcycle show in the UK.
Retaining its retro charm, the test mule comes equipped with circular elements such as its headlamp, mirrors and twin-pod instrument cluster. Its tear-drop fuel tank, flat bench seat, pea-shooter exhaust and offset fuel cap lid further enhance the old-school appeal. The Gold Star gets reverse sweeping analogue needles along with a multifunction LCD inset in the instrument cluster.
The BSA Gold Star is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 45.6PS and 55Nm and it could make its way to India in the same form. The test mule is seen with a telescopic fork along with twin shock absorbers. Like the UK-spec BSA Gold Star, this one too, could get 5-step preload adjustability at the rear. It also comes with disc brakes at both ends - a 320mm rotor at the front along with a 255mm one at the rear in the UK. While the front disc is the same, the Gold Star gets a larger rear disc, compared to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650’s 240mm unit.
This 650cc retro-roadster is engineered in the UK and manufactured in India, so we expect BSA to price it competitively. We expect it to be priced around the Rs 2.9 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which is in its direct rival, the Interceptor 650’s, ballpark. Summing up, as a large capacity single-cylinder motorcycle, the Gold Star will bring a new flavour to the 650cc segment.
BSA Gold Star User Reviews
I was looking for a big bike that is easy to handle & has some character. BSA Gold Star has a classic & thumpy character that makes you feel like an old school charm. I'm primarily using it for city & highway rides. I have ridden it around 6000 kms that include both city & highway rides. The bike has great rear suspension & okayish front suspension (could've been improved). I prefer to setup the pre load to 4 (against the default 2) for better quality ride. Yes, Definitely go for it if you're looking for a thumpy performance & old school characterful bike. Suites best for city & highway commutes. It's a proper roadster with good mileage & lower end torque. Read More
Bought this bike 6 months ago and done almost 9000km and the bike is running smooth did a little little bit of modification to exhaust now it sounds better than the re650’s. Good performance, very comfortable mileage is not good but enough for a 650cc motorcycle, if anyone is looking for re 650 i would recommend do take a test ride of goldstar you will not regretRead More
The performance will be just like the classic 650. Even though It has an upward riding position, it's still a comfortable bike. Cannot tell until I know the real price from my area because what I see online isn't always real style and design-wise this would be the coolest bike ever made in India.Read More
Battery issue and pathetic service quality. Vehicle stopped inbetween as battery discharge while running. Unreliable vehicle without proper service back up. After the vehicle got serviced from the authorised service station, same issue occured again. No quality in service Read More
