The images of the BSA Gold Star have revealed a lot of design and other details

Earlier today, the BSA Gold Star images were dropped ahead of its official unveiling to the public slated for tomorrow at the 2021 NEC Birmingham Motorcycle show. Now, going by the styling, the Gold Star will be a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. So, here’s how the two fare in close visuals.

Featuring a proper retro British roadster design, the BSA Gold Star gets a round halogen headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, curvy bodywork overall and an abundance of chrome. Not to mention, the offset fuel tank cap is a good touch too.

On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 too features similar styling with its hefty bodywork. You get halogen illumination all around, chrome rich parts and a single seat unit like the BSA.

Both bikes get a twin-analogue dial cluster. However, the BSA Gold Star gets reverse clocking dials and the Interceptor’s pod gets a digital inset as well.

While the specifications are yet to be revealed, the Gold Star seems to be powered by a single-cylinder motor. It’s likely to be a 650cc torque-rich mill. Meanwhile, the Interceptor 650 sports a 648cc parallel twin liquid-cooled motor with the output rated at 47PS and 52Nm.

The visuals reveal a single sided retro-themed pea-shooter exhaust for the BSA Gold Star whereas the Interceptor 650 benefits from two chunky modern looking units.

Both the bikes are suspended on a telescopic front fork and dual rear shocks. Even the braking hardware is similar for the two retro Brits: Brembo front and rear disc brakes for the Gold Star and ByBre units for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Not to mention, both bikes get dual-channel ABS.

The BSA Gold Star seems to ride on 18-inch spoked wheels likely wrapped in Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp and the Royal Enfield Interceptor too gets 18-inch wheels shod with Ceat Zoomcruz rubber.

It’s just a day’s time before we get our hands on more details for the BSA Gold Star. This includes its pricing, engine specs as well as availability. As for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, its price starts at Rs 3.23 lakh onwards (ex-showroom Delhi).
