The electric motorcycle makes 28PS of power and gets a proper 4-speed gearbox

The electric motorcycle was unveiled in prototype form in 2018.  It’ll pack features like GPS, Navigation and Cloud connectivity. Its removable lithium-ion battery pack can be fully charged in 30 minutes.

eMotion, an Indian EV startup, is all set to bring the Surge electric motorcycle to Auto Expo 2020. The Coimbatore-based bikemaker first unveiled a prototype of the Surge in 2018, and will now be showcasing the finished product at the expo, possibly even launch it. If launched, the Surge will be the second electric motorcycle to be launched in India after the Revolt RV 400. Well, you have the Ultraviolette F77, but that will not come before October this year. Even Okinawa is working on an electric motorcycle that could debut at the Auto Expo.

While the Revolt RV 400 has raised the bar fairly high in terms of features, the Surge should be able to match it. eMotion claims that the Surge will have more than 40 innovative features like a self-cleaning paint coating, animated turn signals, and SOS safety tech. In addition to this, it will have features such as a 7-inch instrument console, GPS navigation, reverse mode, smartphone integration, cloud connectivity and IOT (Internet Of Things).

The electric motor delivers 28Nm of torque at as low as 2800rpm. eMotion claims that the motorcycle can do 0-60kmph in 4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 120kmph. It gets a removable 40Ah lithium-ion battery pack that offers a claimed range of 100km. The range is further helped with regenerative braking. eMotion will also offer Express Charging which claims to fully charge the battery in 30 minutes!

The Surge gets a lightweight trellis swingarm, an upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is via a 300mm front and 230mm rear ByBre discs.

While there is no information on pricing yet, we expect it to be close to the Revolt RV 400. Stay tuned for more details about this electric motorcycle.
