VinFast Electric Scooter India Launch: To Be Available In 15 States
Letter of Intent signed across 15 states, including Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu
We already know Vietnamese EV maker VinFast is officially entering India’s electric two-wheeler market. The brand has now signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with over 50 dealer partners to open dedicated electric scooter and motorcycle showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states across the country.
As part of the dealer onboarding programme, the Indian dealer partners visited VinFast’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, to inspect the production facilities. They viewed its e-motorcycle operations firsthand before signing the agreements. Having entered India’s electric car market in 2025, this marks VinFast’s first dedicated distribution network for two-wheelers in the country.
Planned Network Coverage
The 50+ dealer showrooms will be spread across major regional hubs:
-
North & Central: Delhi NCR, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
-
West: Maharashtra and Gujarat.
-
South: Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
-
East: West Bengal and Odisha.
Infrastructure, Market Potential & Next Steps
Alongside network expansion, including after-sales support, VinFast also plans to build EV charging infrastructure across these locations to assist buyers.
According to the brand, in fiscal year 2025-26 (April 2025 to March 2026), India recorded 21.41 million two-wheeler registrations, with electric vehicles accounting for 6.54% of total registrations. The brand says this leaves significant room for further electrification in the segment.

VinFast Viper Design Patented In IndiaBikeDekho Says
With established brands like Ather, TVS, and Bajaj holding strong market positions, it will definitely be a challenge for VinFast to cater to this competitive segment. That said, the brand is pretty serious about its entry, and in fact, a sporty scooter, a maxi-scooter, and even an electric bike’s designs have been patented in India. Expect the brand to enter the country by the end of the year, with phased expansions thereafter. We got to sample the VinFast Vento S, Vero X, Theon S, Evo Grand, Klara Neo, and Feliz in Vietnam last year, so expect at least some of them to enter our shores, of course with India-specific specifications.
VinFast’s biggest challenge will be its brand awareness, as not a lot of folks in the country are aware of the brand, despite the fact that it’s been selling premium electric cars. So it’ll be interesting to see how the brand tackles this. Stay tuned!
