Upcoming Triumph Trident 800 Reaches Dealership Ahead Of Launch: Price Revealed

The Trident 800 is almost Rs 10,000 more expensive than the Street Triple R

Quick Highlights:

  • The upcoming Triumph Trident 800 reaches dealerships ahead of official launch

  • Gets a 798 cc inline-triple engine producing 115 PS and 84 Nm.

  • Official launch could take place in a few days

Triumph appears to have quietly introduced the Trident 800 in India. While the motorcycle is yet to be listed on Triumph India’s official website, select dealerships have confirmed that they have the bike in stock. Unveiled globally in October last year, the Trident 800 sits above the Trident 660 in the brand’s middleweight naked motorcycle lineup. According to our dealer sources, the prices start at Rs 10.95 lakh and go up to Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India), depending on the colour.

Design: Familiar Roadster Styling

The Triumph Trident 800 follows the brand’s roadster design language, with a muscular fuel tank, a round LED headlight, a compact tail section and an upright riding stance. It is available in three colour options: Jet Black, Ash Grey and Carnival Red. The black colour is priced at Rs 10.95 lakh, while the other two shades cost Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine: Triple-Cylinder Performance

Powering the Trident 800 is a 798 cc, liquid-cooled, inline-three engine shared with the Tiger Sport 800. It produces 115 PS at 10,750 rpm and 84 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and promises the characteristic blend of strong mid-range performance and a sporty top-end.

Underpinnings: Road-Focused Hardware

The Trident 800 uses a steel perimeter frame, suspended by a 41 mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, while the bike’s electronic rider aids should improve control under different riding conditions. Compared to the Street Triple R, the Trident 800 is around 9 kg heavier, partly due to its steel frame. The Street Triple R also gets fully adjustable suspension.

Features: Loaded With Electronics

The motorcycle gets a six-axis IMU that enables lean-sensitive cornering ABS and traction control. Riders can choose between three riding modes: Road, Sport and Rain. Cruise control is also available, along with Bluetooth connectivity for the 3.5-inch TFT instrument console.

BikeDekho Says

The Triumph Trident 800 offers a middleweight naked motorcycle package with a triple-cylinder engine and a comprehensive electronics suite. At Rs 10.95 lakh, it is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the Street Triple R in India, which also gets a larger 5-inch TFT display alongside fully adjustable suspension.

Since the Trident 800 has only been confirmed at select dealerships so far, availability may vary across the country. Buyers should contact their nearest Triumph dealership for stock and booking details before visiting.

Excellent performance daily superbike

I'm very excited to tell that this is a fantastic motorcycle. Maybe returned street triple rs and different stylish but this bike hits different. Performance is excellent but size of the bike is small. So I don't recommend this bike to tall riders. Overall a good daily super bike with good amount of power.Read More
