Price & Positioning
The Standard Edition is priced at Rs 81,585 (ex-showroom, Delhi), honestly the most affordable way into the Access scooter lineup. It shares its core engine and CVT setup with every other variant above it, so you're not losing out on the fundamentals. What you're skipping is the tech layer and the front disc brake that come with the pricier trims.
Design & Styling
Visually, the Standard Edition doesn't feel less than top. It carries the same retro-ish design language as the rest of the range: boxy headlights, circular chromed mirrors, and sharp crease lines along the side panels. The floorboard stays flat and roomy, and the metal front fender and leg shield give it a solid, durable feel rather than anything that feels cost-cut.
The Standard Edition comes in three shades: Metallic Mat Black, Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, and Pearl Grace White.
Features
This is where the Standard Edition asks you to compromise the most. It runs on a basic LCD cluster, so there's no phone connectivity, no navigation, and no call or SMS alerts here.
One detail worth flagging: the front USB charging port isn't standard on this variant; it's reserved for the pricier trims. That said, the essentials carry over. You still get a cubbyhole up front, the 24.4-litre under-seat storage, the LED headlamp and tail lamp, the one-push central lock system for the seat and fuel lid, and the side-stand engine cut-off. The basics of everyday usability aren't sacrificed, thankfully.
Safety & Hardware
The Standard Edition runs drum brakes at both ends, with a Combined Braking System. Lacking a front disc is the only big tradeoff, if you ask us.
Everywhere else, the hardware is shared across the lineup: a telescopic front fork, single rear shock absorber, and the same 12-inch front and 10-inch rear tubeless tyres, that too with alloy wheels. Kerb weight is 107kg, just 1kg heavier than the other variants.
Engine & Performance
The base variant for Access 125 gets the same 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine used across the entire Access range. So, there’s no compromise on performance as such. The 8.4PS, 10.2Nm engine is properly fun, while at the same time refined as well. It even returned around 55kmpl in mixed conditions in our test, which is pretty good for a family scooter. A 5.3-litre fuel tank keeps the whole package practical for daily commuting.

If Bluetooth, a TFT screen, and a front disc brake aren't dealbreakers for you, the Standard Edition makes a strong case for itself. It comes with the same engine, the same chassis, and nearly all the everyday practicality of the pricier variants, just without the tech layer on top. That said, for just Rs 6,242 more, we’d recommend going for the Special Edition that comes with a front disc (cheapest Access 125 variant with disc). Considering the peppy performance of the scooter, a front disc is highly recommended.
