This retro-roadster looks like a proper scaled-down version of the bigger Bonnies

    Triumph Bonneville T40

Triumph has launched the Bonneville T40 range in India. It is a new 350 cc modern classic that brings the styling of the bigger Bonneville family to a more accessible motorcycle. The online bookings for this roadster will commence from October 7, 2026, 4:30 PM onwards, on Triumph India's official website. The deliveries for the T40 will start from second week of November 2026, while for the T4 will start from the second week of January 2027.

    Price

Triumph Bonneville 350 cc Range Price (ex-showroom, Delhi)
    T40 Rs 2,79,999
    T40 Black Rs 2,79,999
    T4 Rs 2,54,999

The Triumph Bonneville 350 cc range consist of three variants: T40, T40 Black, and T4. While the T40 series come loaded with all the additional features, the T4 remains on the more minimalistic side, like the proper Bonnies.

    How Does It Look?

    Triumph Bonneville T40

The Bonneville T40 has been designed to look like a smaller version of the bigger Bonneville models. It gets a round LED headlight, LED indicators and LED tail light, along with a neatly integrated round single-pod instrument console.

The bike is available in both single-tone and dual-colour paint schemes, similar to the larger Bonnevilles. Chrome is used extensively, with the mirrors, engine covers, badging, wheels and grab handle finished in chrome. The classic look is further enhanced by the peashooter-style exhaust and spoked wheels at both ends. Overall, the T40 stays true to the traditional Bonneville design while being more compact and approachable.

    Engine And Performance

    Triumph Bonneville T40

The Bonneville T40 uses the same TR-series 350 cc single-cylinder engine seen in Triumph’s smaller motorcycles, but it gets a different tune for this application. The engine also features a revised cylinder head and camshaft.

It produces 29 PS at 7,000 rpm, 31.2Nm at 5,500 rpm and gets a 6-speed gearbox. Triumph has also given the bike slightly taller gearing, with the focus being on stronger mid-range performance rather than outright acceleration. This should make the T40 well suited to relaxed city riding and highway cruising, while retaining the character expected from a modern classic.

    A Long Features List

Despite its classic styling, the Bonneville T40 gets a fairly modern equipment list. It features a 4-inch circular TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and Google Maps mirroring.

There are five riding modes – Road, Rain, Eco and two customisable modes. The bike also gets lean-sensitive ABS with optimised cornering ABS, along with optimised traction control. Other features include cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, a USB Type-C charging port and backlit switchgear.

    Underpinnings

    Triumph Bonneville T40

The Bonneville T40 uses a conventional chassis setup, with a telescopic fork fitted with fork gaiters. It offers 130 mm of wheel travel at both ends. Braking duties are handled by a twin-piston front calliper, while the bike rides on spoked wheels. It gets a 100/90-18 front tyre and a wider 150/70-17 rear tyre.

The T40 has a 790 mm seat height, which can be reduced to 770 mm with the optional low-seat accessory. At 191 kg (kerb), it isn’t particularly light, but the relatively accessible seat height should make it easier to manage for a wider range of riders. The bike also gets a 14.5-litre fuel tank, giving it enough capacity for longer rides between fuel stops.

The Triumph Bonneville T4 is the exact same bike as the T40, but without all the additional features. It uses the same engine, and underpinnings, but misses out on cornering ABS, cruise control, and the TFT console. Instead, Triumph has given it a slightly basic looking LCD console which supports smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. Also, the T4 does not look as flashing as the T40 range, as it does not get the dual-tone colours. The T4 is available in three minimalistic colour options: Phantom Black, Carnival Red, and Competition Green.

    BikeDekho Says

The Bonneville T4 and T40 are one of Triumph’s more interesting modern-classic offerings. It brings the visual appeal of the larger Bonnevilles to a smaller and more accessible package, while its 350cc engine and relaxed ergonomics should make it easy to live with on a daily basis.

The T4 is Rs 25,000 more affordable than the T40 range, but it is still considerably more expensive than its main rivals, such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350. However, it does justify the higher price tag with its significantly higher on-paper performance, along with its premium styling, chrome detailing, spoked wheels and peashooter exhaust. That said, the T40 range is still on the more affordable side of Triumph’s lineup, but it now sits as the most expensive Triumph’s 350 cc bike in India.
