Tamil Nadu-based electric two wheeler manufacturer Ampere has launched the 2025 Ampere Magnus Grand in India at a price of Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom ). It costs Rs 5,000 more than the Magnus Neo and offers a bit more premium feel with the refreshed paint scheme and a few new features.
What’s New
The 2025 Ampere Magnus Grand comes with two new colours: Ocean Blue and Matcha Green (yes, based on that drink that’s been going viral on Instagram). The graphics layout is similar but the contrasting colour schemes give the e-scooter a fresh look. Out of the two, the Ocean Blue is our favourite as the blue, white, red and brown combo really makes the e-scooter look premium. That said, the white lower apron panels may get dirty rather quickly, so you’ll just have to be wary of that. It also gets gold badging on the apron and on the sides, a slightly differently designed silver grab rail, and a slightly more comfortable seat with brown coloured seat cover.

More importantly, Ampere has also given the Magnus Grand a new LCD instrument console which, according to the brand, offers much better visibility and is easier to read and also offers connectivity as an option. Ampere has not fiddled with the overall design of the scooter, and it remains neutral - likeable by customers of all ages. The refreshed styling makes the Magnus Grand stand out a little more on the road while still keeping its identity as a practical electric scooter.
What’s Unchanged
While the looks have been updated, the motor, battery pack and other mechanicals remain the same as the Neo variant. It uses a removable 2.3kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack that powers a motor with 1.5kW nominal output and 2.4kW peak output. It comes with a range of 118km, whereas the claimed real-world range is 80 to 95km (in Eco mode). The top speed is 65kmph and it can accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in 6.5-seconds (all figures are claimed). Ampere has kept the tried-and-tested setup that offers a smooth ride and decent range for city use. It uses a 7.5A charger that can charge the battery fully in 5-6 hours as per Ampere.

The steel tube frame remains unchanged along with the conventional telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It gets 130mm drum brakes at both ends with CBS (combined braking system), this e-scooter runs on 12-inch steel wheels and 90-section tyres at both ends. It weighs 108kg (kerb), can carry up to 150kg (including the rider) and it can climb inclined roads up to 12 degrees.
On the features side, Ampere has kept things familiar. The scooter still offers a 22-litre underseat storage, a decently sized cubbyhole on the apron, a reverse mode and three ride modes: Eco, City and Power. These features may not be fancy, but they are practical and useful for a commuter scooter. Ampere is offering a warranty of 3 years/ 30,000km on the vehicle and 5 years/ 75,000km on the battery.
Bikdekho Says
Overall, at a Rs 5,000 premium, the 2025 Ampere Magnus Grand brings in subtle but welcoming styling updates while the new LCD console gives it a slightly extra modern touch. We just wish it came with alloy wheels as that would’ve made it feel even more premium. That said, at Rs 5,000 less, the standard Magnus Neo still makes sense for budget-conscious buyers as it still packs reasonable features, and more importantly, the same mechanicals as the Grand. Price-wise, the Ampere Magnus Grand competes with the Vida VX2, Vida V2 and the base variant of the TVS iQube.
