Ampere Nexus EX+ Launched In India At Rs 1.30 Lakh
The e-scooter gets smarter and more powerful with these updates
Ampere has updated the Nexus EX+ with 2 variants: the Nexus EX+ and the Nexus EX+ Intellipack. It is priced at Rs 1,29,999 for the EX+ and the Nexus EX+ Intellipack costs Rs 1,35,999. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
What’s New?
The scooter gets a 5 kW motor which produces a peak wheel torque of 202 Nm. It gets a claimed top speed of 93 kmph, and 0-40 acceleration takes 4.5 seconds. Also, it has a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 136 km.
Additionally, the charging hardware has been updated; the scooter gets a new 750 W charger, which is IP-65 rated. This should give the rider assurance when the scooter is charged outdoors.
The top trim Nexus EX+ Intellipack enables 30-plus connectivity features, which includes: geofencing, call/SMS alerts, real-time charging status, find my scooter and ping my scooter. These features improve everyday practicality, and you pay a premium of Rs 6,000 to get the Intellipack.
What remains unchanged?
Other than the motor, charger and the addition of the Intellipack, the scooter remains more or less unchanged. The e-scooter gets a ground clearance of 170 mm, which is more than enough for city riding. It gets an accessible seat height of 765 mm. And a kerb weight of 126.4 kg which should make the scooter flickable and easy to maneuver in city traffic.
It gets 12-inch wheels at both ends. Braking duties are carried by disc at the front and a drum setup at the rear. It gets a 6.2-inch digital console which shows all the necessary information: speedometer, odometer and battery level.
The scooter gets a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty and 5 years or 75,000 km on the battery as standard.
