2026 BSA Gold Star 650 Colours: All Shades Ranked

There are six colours including the two new ones launched recently. They all have their own personality

BSA has just expanded the Gold Star 650 palette with two new colours, Birmingham Blue and the Brooklands Black Legacy Edition, launched in October, 2026. This brings the total to five distinct shades. But which shade looks the best? We rank all five options based on their visual appeal and how well they complement the Gold Star’s classic design:

#5. Shadow Black

You might expect black to be the entry-level choice, but the Shadow Black is priced higher than both the green and red at Rs 3,46,950. While it offers a low-key, understated look, it lacks the visual punch of the new blue or the heritage appeal of the Legacy editions. While it’s not the most distinctive, it’s a safe choice for those who like to keep things subtle.

#4. Brooklands Black Legacy Edition (New)

Topping the price chart at Rs 3,64,950, the new Brooklands Black Legacy Edition is the most premium Gold Star you can buy. The tank features a stunning dual-finish of gloss black and chrome, set off by hand-painted gold pinstripes that also appear on the chrome fenders. Add brushed aluminium engine components, and you have a motorcycle for the buyer who sees the higher price tag as part of the appeal. If you like the style and attention, then this one will suit you the best as the chromed out look really goes well with its retro appeal.

#3. Insignia Red

Sitting at Rs 3,42,950, Insignia Red is a classic choice that offers a bit more road presence but also not too shiny like the Legacy Edition. This one along with the Highland Green are the choices offered at launch, representing the standard Gold Star experience. It's a solid middleground for the rider who wants to stand out in a timeless, understated way.

#2. Sheen Silver Legacy Edition

At Rs 3,60,950, the Sheen Silver Legacy Edition is for the purist. This colour signals its premium heritage intent with the "Legacy Edition" badge and a finish that takes it back to BSA’s golden era. The bright silver tank is complemented by classic pinstriping and generous chrome on the engine casings and fenders. If you want your retro bike to have that proper raw metallic finish, this is the one to go for.

#1. Birmingham Blue (New)

Priced at Rs 3,55,950 (ex-showroom), the new Birmingham Blue is the top pick of the range. It pairs a deep, glossy navy blue tank with contrasting matte black treatment on the engine, exhaust, and wheels, finished with a clean white stripe on the tank. It’s the perfect choice for the rider who wants a fresh, modern-retro character that stands apart from the more traditional options without needing a "Legacy" badge to prove its credentials.

Old school character & thumpy

I was looking for a big bike that is easy to handle & has some character. BSA Gold Star has a classic & thumpy character that makes you feel like an old school charm. I'm primarily using it for city & highway rides. I have ridden it around 6000 kms that include both city & highway rides. The bike has great rear suspension & okayish front suspension (could've been improved). I prefer to setup the pre load to 4 (against the default 2) for better quality ride. Yes, Definitely go for it if you're looking for a thumpy performance & old school characterful bike. Suites best for city & highway commutes. It's a proper roadster with good mileage & lower end torque. Read More

Very good bike

The performance will be just like the classic 650. Even though It has an upward riding position, it's still a comfortable bike. Cannot tell until I know the real price from my area because what I see online isn't always real style and design-wise this would be the coolest bike ever made in India.Read More
