It’ll be the most affordable cafe racer bike in India

    Quick Highlights:

    • Launch date was confirmed by Triumph through its social media channels

    • The motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom)

    • Will have a sportier bodywork complete with half fairing and more aggressive clip-on handlebars

Triumph India recently posted a teaser on its social media channels, confirming that the brand's upcoming cafe racer will be launched on August 6, 2025. The 2025 Thruxton 400 can be seen clearly in the teaser, along with several important details.

A lot of aspects of the bike can be seen clearly in the teaser, and it looks pretty gorgeous. We know that Triumph has based the 2025 Thruxton on the brand’s already popular Triumph Speed 400. These bikes will share the same engine, frame, suspension and other important bits. However, being a cafe racer, the teaser shows the beautifully designed semi-fairing of the motorcycle. There is also a new monza-style fuel filler cap - it’s a differently designed cap that looks similar to the one on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.

The 2025 Triumph Thruxton 400 will get the same 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor as the Speed 400, that makes 40PS and 37.5Nm. We hope the motor is tuned differently to suit the sportier character of the motorcycle. The steel tube frame is also going to remain unchanged, but could get minor tweaks to accommodate the semi-fairing of the Thruxton 400. It will have 43mm inverted fork and rear monoshock with preload adjustable suspension from the Speed 400, but Triumph could tweak it for a slightly sportier performance. Other unchanged parts include the 300mm front and 240mm rear disc brake setup, and 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends with a 110-section front and a 150-section rear tyre. The bike in the teaser was seen with MRF Steel Brace TL radial tyres, which is a bit odd considering the Speed 400 comes either with Verdestein Centauro ST or Apollo Alpha H1.

The teaser also reveals that the Thruxton 400 will have the same LED headlight as the Speed 400 and Speed T4. However, the bike will have a completely new design for the tail section with a different tail light and grab rail. It will also get low-set clip-on handlebars for a more forward-leaned riding stance.

    BikeDekho Says

The 2025 Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced at around Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it more expensive than the Speed 400. With the cafe racer, Triumph aims to cater to riders who are looking for a slightly sportier motorcycle than the Speed 400, but with a tastefully done retro design. That said, it will still be a niche motorcycle as it may not be as comfortable to ride on a daily basis as compared to the Speed 400. This is also why the cafe racer segment in India remains small, with the only option currently being the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 in India.

That said, the Continental GT 650 is a lot more expensive and gets a more powerful parallel-twin motor, which will make the Thruxton the most affordable cafe-racer style bike in the country.

A Café Racer That Feels Like a Gentleman’s Machine
I chose the Thruxton 400 for its classic cafe racer looks and strong highway performance. It feels smooth and stable on long rides though a bit firm on city roads. A great mix of power style and refinement. The ride feels premium and confident. Engine is quick to respond, stable at high speeds, and corners beautifully. Mileage is fair for a 400cc, and the grip inspires confidence. Slightly stiff in traffic, but overall very satisfying. Yes, absolutely for riders who want performance with elegance. Ideal for solo riders or weekend cruisers who value looks and feel over pure comfort. Not for heavy city commuters, but perfect for spirited rides.

      Best in the Segment
This bike truly stands out in its segment! Its performance and features are impressive, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking for quality and excitement on two wheels. If I had the budget for taking this beast of a machine home I would definitely buy this without any second thought. If you have the budget just go for it..🥰

Thruxton - best bike in segment
well the bike is top notch, i ofc chose this bike because of its looks and reviews on its performance and my god this bike packs a punch, great pull, awesome handling, you might find suspension on a little stiffer side but its alright, honestly this bike just lacks some digital features or more things to play with on the speedometer, this is bike is actually better than the other triumph bikes in its segment because of its betting tuning ratio which of course comes with a price of lower milage but not much noticeable. Overall this bike is one of the best bike to choose from, better any royal enfield in its segment.

      This bike is very beautiful
This bike is very beautiful and its price is a bit high, it would be very good to have a smart bike at a low price And what is its best thing, its look, but the price is very high, most people cannot buy it, if its price is low then more people will buy and sales will also increase and the company will earn profit and it will become a brand
