It has undergone a bit of design changes, but sadly doesn’t have a 12-inch rear wheel yet

2024 Suzuki Access 125 Spotted Testing

Suzuki has been working on updating India’s best selling 125cc scooter, the Suzuki Access 125. Recently spy shots of the 2024 Suzuki Access 125 being tested surfaced online, and the images have revealed quite a bit, giving us an idea of what we can expect.

For starters, the scooter now comes with an updated design with a few bits being changed here and there. The headlight section is a new one, featuring what appears to be a more rectangular LED headlight. The new Access retains the same front fender as the outgoing scooter but now comes with blacked out wheels and fork.

Additionally, the apron has been tweaked a bit and now looks a bit sharper than what we have seen on the outgoing Access. It also includes cubby holes at both sides for extra storage. The scooter also has a utility hook below the seat, just like the existing one.

Suzuki has also brought in a new seat, and this one looks a bit more sleek especially at the front. The pillion grabrail looks similar and is a chunky single piece unit. The rear section now features a LED tail light.

In terms of features, the Access now has a hazard light function, as evident by the spy shots of both the rear indicators blinking at the same time. The new 2024 Access 125 will also get a fully-digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, bringing features like turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts and message notifications depending on the variant.

Other than these design changes, we don’t see anything different in the scooter. It is likely to be powered by the same 124cc engine which produces 8.7PS and 10Nm. The scooter is built on an underbone frame and is suspended on a telescopic fork and single shock absorber. It rolls on a 12-inch alloy wheel at front and 10-inch alloy wheel in the rear. While the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 got a 12-inch rear wheel as part of an update back in 2022, the Access is still yet to get one, which is a bit disappointing, to be honest.

We expect the 2024 Access to come at a small premium of Rs 2000 over the outgoing model. The current-gen Suzuki Access 125 is priced as follows:

Suzuki Access 125 Variant

Suzuki Access 125 Price

Standard Edition Drum

Rs 79,899

Standard Edition Disc

84,700

Special Edition Disc Brake

Rs 86,200

Ride Connect Edition Disc Brake with Alloy Wheels

Rs 90,500

All prices ex-showroom Delhi

The launch could likely happen by mid-2024 as the spied scooter looks pretty much production ready.

The Access 125 goes up against other family scooters like the Honda Activa 125 and TVS Jupiter 125. Other electric alternatives to the Access include the recently launched Ather Rizta family scooter.
