Of the nine models that Ducati revealed at 2015 EICMA, the one that fascinated us the most is the exotic restyled cruiser - XDiavel. Besides some impressive cosmetic updates, the bike has also been altered mechanically to a whole new level. The all-new XDiavel has been bestowed with DVT (Ducati Variable Timing) with some other generous updates to transform it into a more aggressive and meaner machine.
Ducati XDiavel is powered by a 1,626cc, Testastretta engine that uses belt drive for power transmission. The mighty mill cranks out a net power of 156hp at 9,500rpm along with an earth shattering torque of 128.5Nm at 5,000rpm. The bike has been assisted with Bosch electronics package that includes three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban) along with an IMU. The Bosch IMU keeps a track of bike’s position in space and sends information to the traction control and ABS settings. Ducati has also equipped the bike with a new launch control unit known as DPL (Ducati Power Launch). Configured to three levels, the system deactivates once the bike crosses a speed of 75mph or slows down to less than 3mph. Moreover, in order to preserve the clutch, the system has been designed to provide only a limited number of consecutive controlled launches.
Talking of body design, the chassis has now got a single-sided swingarm with updated ergonomics including four different positions for the forward footpegs. Besides, you can also choose from five different seats and three handlebars to further enhance your biking experience. There is a much more to personalisation than just this. Ducati also offers three personalization packages with the bike namely - Sports, Touring and Urban. Firstly, a Sports Pack offers forward handlebars and appearance set, a Touring pack comes with passenger backrest, more comfortable seat, tank bag and a windshield. Lastly, the Urban pack includes numerous aluminium accent covers with a “Roadster Nose fairing”.
