The graphics on the body panel are satisfying while the economical 100cc engine makes is an ideal bike to have for city commutes.
The company has been watchful while embedding the safety elements including brake mechanism and shock absorbers. The HF Deluxe comes with 2-step adjustable telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear end. Taking care of the safety of the rider and pillion, there is a 130mm drum brake at the front while 110mm brake unit at the rear.
With a number of convenient components and features, it assures you a comfortable and a smooth ride. There are quite a number of colour options for you to put your hands on including Candy Blazing Red, Black with Purple, Boon Silver Metallic, Classy Maroon Metallic and Black with Red. The entry-level bike is available in both kick-start as well as self-start variants. The kick-start base variant of the bike needs you to shell out Rs 48,603 (On road, Delhi).
Design
The design of the Hero HF Deluxe is pretty straightforward, with elements like a bikini fairing around the headlamp, a large alloy grab rail at the rear, stylish graphics on the body panels, a silencer wrapped inside a chrome shield. Silver five-spoke alloy wheels helps the motorcycle stand apart from other commuter motorcycles.
The instrument cluster features an analogue speedometer, odometer and basic tell-tale lights. For added convenience, the bike gets a flush-type fuel tank cap as well. The fuel tank can hold 9.5 litres of juice, and the motorcycle is quite light with a kerb weight of just 107kg. The HF Dawn employs a 97.2cc single-cylinder OHC engine. It produces 8.36PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5000rpm. Thanks to the 4-speed transmission, the bike can reach a claimed top speed of 87kmph.
Features
Complying with current safety norms, the HF Deluxe gets Always Headlamp On (AHO). Hero doesn’t offer CBS (Combined Braking System) as of yet. However, expect the brand to introduce the safety feature once new safety norms come into effect from April 2019 onwards. According to the new rules, all new two-wheelers with engines that displace less than 125cc must have CBS as standard.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Under the skin, Hero HF Deluxe has an air-cooled 4- stroke single cylinder OHC 97.2cc engine that is good enough for a maximum power of 8.36 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed gearbox via chain drive transmission. The power-mill has been upgraded, with quicker power throughput and better bottom end grunt. With the existing setup, it can hit a top speed of 90 kmph. The bike can yield a fuel efficiency of 65 Kmpl on city roads while this figure goes up to 74 Kmpl when gliding it on highways.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Hero HF Deluxe is built on a tubular double cradle frame, with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers offering two-step preload adjustability. Being a budget commuter motorcycle, brakes include a 130mm drum up front and a 110mm drum at the rear. It has a pretty decent ground clearance od 165mm. The maximum payload capacity stands at 130kg.
