Harley Davidson Street Glide Special

Earlier this year, Harley-Davidson introduced its highly expensive motorcycle in the Indian market. Named as Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special,  a tourer machine that is developed to focus distance with experience and entertainment. The bike is an old tourer machine from the company’s portfolio that just  becoming better with the time. To show off their state-of-the-art innovation and technology, the manufacturer put their feet on the Indian sand with this amazing tourer machine. Furthermore, the bike features new boom box 6.5 radio, 6.5inch touch screen display, a jukebox with USB port for iPhone/Phone that further supports voice recognition & Bluetooth that are connected with 5.25-inch speakers.

It is propelled by a 1690cc, air-cooled, High output twin cam 103 engine with integrated oil cooler that churns out a peak torque of 138 Nm at 3500 rpm. The motorcycle is fitted with a huge fuel tank of 22.7 liters that offer a decent amount of mileage of 17.85kmpl. It runs on 130/60B19 61H front and BW 180/65B16 81H rear Dunlop® Multi-Tread™ tyres. The braking system becomes responsive with the help of 32 mm, 4-piston fixed caliper Brembo disc brakes at the both, front and rear ends. Furthermore, it also features Reflex Linked Brakes with Anti-lock Braking System.

Harley Davidson Street Glide features an impressive tourer bike look which makes it stand among the most spendthrift motorcycle in the world. The front fascia of the bike sports a rounded headlamp section that comes incorporated with twin lights. Furthermore, it also features the fog lamps that works very well in nights and low light conditions and gives proper visibility. It is equipped with huge front cowl along with a clear visor that ensures the protection of the rider from wind blasts at high speeds. The bike is fitted with neatly crafted fuel tank that further follows a pointed and sharp pattern. Besides this, the manufacturer also furnished the bike with two big saddlebags that find their place at the rear end to accommodate enough luggage while on the go. Talking about the rear, the bike comes with brilliantly designed tail lamps that look engaging in the dark.

It comes with an overall length of 2451 mm that provides it a respectable road presence. Furthermore, its seat is fitted at a height of 663 mm that proves itself convenient for short height riders as well. The total kerb weight of the machine is 367 kg that make it a little bulky and heavy. The instrument cluster of the motorcycle comprises of an analogue speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, low-temperature light, low fuel warning light, gear indicator and low oil pressure light. The infotainment system has been provided with numerous handy characteristics such as two speakers, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, headsets and SD card & flash drive slot.

Harley Davidson Street Glide equipped with a powerful twin headlamp at the front section that brighten up the road pretty well and gives an adequate vision at night and even in low light conditions. Furthermore, the bike also sports a fog lamp that proves itself worthy as it prevents from any mishaps in the case of dense fog and chilly weather conditions. Besides this, the bike provided with an electronically coded key fob that automatically starts and kill the vehicle with the distance of the rider from the bike. The bike has been fitted with an intelligent voice recognition system that further coupled to other utilities like Bluetooth, navigation, etc. Apart from that, it is also configured with the cruise control system that restricts the speed beyond a certain limit and cut down the chance of any mishap.

Harley Davidson Street Glide is equipped with 1690cc, air-cooled, High output twin cam 103™ engine along with integrated oil cooler that comes linked to a 6-speed manual transmission. The motor develops a whopping torque of 142 Nm at 3500 rpm. Apart from this, the air-cooled engine has been aided with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) which gives a crisp throttle response with an uninterrupted power delivery. It has a compression ratio of 9.7:1 and a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 98.4 mm x 111.1 mm.

Harley Davidson Street Glide runs over the 130/60B19-61H front and BW 180/65B16-81H rear Dunlop® Multi-Tread™ tyres that come fitted over tough and elegant alloy wheels. It comes to a halt with the help of 32mm, 4-piston caliper Brembo disc brakes that are fitted at the front as well as rear and offer a sound grip. It has an exhaust system that includes chrome, 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers. The suspension system of the machine comprises of air-adjustable spring aided shock absorber at both ends. Furthermore, it sports Reflex™ Linked Brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that offers a premium stability under harsh braking conditions.
