CFMoto 250NK Highlights

CFMoto is a Chinese bikemaker that has been testing four of its products in India. They are the 250NK, 400NK, 650NK and 650MT. Of this, the 250NK is the company's 250cc naked offering. It will compete against the KTM 250 Duke in India and is expected to be priced around the Rs 2 lakh mark. The bike looks quite sporty thanks to it being designed by Kiska, the same design firm that is responsible for the current KTM range looking the way it does. Features include an LED headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. It also gets a colour TFT screen that comes with two preset displays.

Power comes from a 249.2cc liquid cooled single-cylinder motor that puts out 26.5PS and 22Nm of torque. You have two power modes: Sport and Rain. It also comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and a hydraulic clutch which should reduce clutch lever effort significantly.

Like KTM bikes, the frame is a lightweight trellis unit and suspension setup includes upside down front forks and a rear monoshock. It gets radial tyres and a brake setup by JJuan consisting of a 300mm front and 245mm rear disc brakes.

Unlike the KTM's that are being manufactured in India, we expect these bikes to come to India via the CKD route. While the bike sold abroad comes with a 2-year, unlimited kilometres warranty, it remains to be seen if CFMoto will offer the bikes in India with the same. AMW Motorcycles will be responsible for bringing CFMoto motorcycles in India and may launch the 250cc naked bike before October 2019. As of now, only two dealerships have been confirmed (one in Hyderabad and the other in Bengaluru), but AMW Motorcycles is planning to open a few dealerships in Mumbai and Chennai as well.
