      BMW R 1200 series is powered by a 1170cc, flat twin air/liquid cooled engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission system. The powerful mill churns out a maximum power output of 125hp at 7,750rpm with a peak torque of 125Nm at 6,500rpm. The machines are incorporated with electronic intake pipe fuel injection system, providing uninterrupted power delivery.

      BMW R 1200 series run on 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres. The suspension duties are carried out impressively by telescopic upside-down forks at the front and spring pre-loaded hydraulically adjustable monoshock at the rear. The lot is fitted with 320mm dual disc brake with four piston calliper at the front and 276mm twin piston calliper disc at the rear. The braking system is paired with BMW Anti Lock Braking System, which is switchable.

      BMW R 1200 GS comes for pure adventure biking purpose. Its body dynamics are sharp, challenging strict off-road terrains. The front profile of the bike incorporates a unique headlamp with a highly raised additional front fender. It also features a sporty split seat. BMW R 1200 RT is a touring machine that comes with a highly faired front profile. The giant headlamp section gives it an unmatched appeal.

      BMW R 1200 R carry roadster genes in itself. The front fascia is equipped with a trapezoidal headlamp and golden upside down front forks, combining to showcase a perfect roadster bike. The rear split grab rail looks impressive, adding some more character to the bike. The traction control system comes as an optional feature with it. Last but not the least, BMW R 1200RS is the company’s premium sports bike. It stands tall with impressive body dynamics and features twin sporty headlights with a positioning lamp.

Needless to say, the bike has a naked and sharp front appearance that gets completed quite impressively with the pointed and curvy body detailings and dynamics. The bike has the following body dimensions: 2,145mm x 906mm x 1,273mm (LxWxH) and has a wheelbase of 1,495mm that delivers agile handling. It comes with some interesting features such as adjustable seat and a switchable ABS and a futuristic engine management system. The second bike is the BMW R 1200GS which is basically an adventure sports tourer by genes.         23rd June, 2015: BMW Motorrad launched their 1200cc bikes to cater the speed and adventure freaks of the nation. The bikes are christened as BMW R 1200 GS (adventure bike), BMW R 1200 RT (tourer), BMW R 1200 R (roadster) and BMW R 1200 RS (sports bikes). With their launch, BMW seems to be strengthening its roots in high-end motorcycle segment of the country. All these are powered by the same 1170cc, flat twin, four stroke engine and are priced in the range of Rs. 21 lacs to Rs. 28 lacs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The bikes stand strong against their respective segment rulers.
