The BMW R12 is a laidback, relaxed modern-classic motorcycle from BMW Motorrad. It combined a retro inspired design with modern underpinnings. It replaces the popular BMW R nineT and gets the brand’s signature boxer twin engine, tuned for a relaxed yet engaging ride.

BMW R12 Design
The BMW R12 stays true to its heritage-inspired styling with modern touches. It has a round headlight, a broad and sculpted fuel tank, and a low-slung cruiser profile. The single seat, minimalist bodywork and single-pod circular instrument console complete the retro look.
BMW R12 Engine
The BMW R12 gets a 1170cc air-and-oil cooled, two-cylinder boxer engine that makes 96.31PS at 6,500rpm and 110Nm at 6,000rpm. This’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a dry clutch and shaft drive instead of chain.
BMW R12 Chassis, Brakes, Wheels, Suspension
The BMW R12 is built on a tubular steel frame, an aluminium swingarm, and 90mm of suspension travel at both ends. It has a 45mm inverted telescopic fork, a central shock strut at the rear with preload and damping adjustability. It gets dual 310mm front discs with 4-piston Brembo Monobloc radial calipers and a 265mm rear disc with a 2-piston caliper. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel with a 100-section tyre and a 16-inch rear with a 130-section. It has a 753mm seat height, 227kg kerb weight, and 14-litre fuel tank.
