Overview
BMW Motorrad, the famous motorcycle manufacturer, introduced this sports bike in India. Christened as BMW K 1300 S, it is the second most powerful bike in sports bike category after BMW S 1000RR. The manufacturer has given this bike both sports and touring characteristics that are evident in its comfortable riding position and inevitable performance of the engine. With high-end features and irresistible design, this machine is simply havoc and leaves the audience speechless.
BMW K 1300 S is offered in two shades, which are Titanium Silver Metallic with Sapphire Black Metallic and Sapphire Black Metallic with Dark Graphite Metallic. The equipment that make it a premium motorcycle are tinted windshield, automatic stability control, HP carbon front mudguard, HP carbon tank cover, tank bag, luggage grid with sports panniers, rear spray guard, HP instrument cluster, center stand and HP gearshift assist. The ride of the motorcycle is made better with heated grips, electronic tyre pressure control and Electronic Suspension Adjustment
BMW K 1300 S is powered by a 1293cc, water-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, in-line four-cylinder engine that is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. The motor is tuned to produce an impressive power output of 175bhp at 9,250rpm with a peak torque of 140Nm at 8,250rpm. The top speed of the bike is above 200kmph while it can return a mileage of around 17kmpl. The fuel tank capacity of the machine is 19 liter wherein 4 liter goes in reserve.
BMW K 1300 S is enveloped on a Bridge-type frame with engine as a stressed member. The suspension at the front is aBMW Motorrad Duolever with central spring strut and the rear is equipped to a cast aluminum single-sided swing arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever with central spring strut with a lever system. Tyres moving its body are 120/70 ZR 17 at the front and 190/55 ZR 17 at the rear. Encircling aluminum cast alloy wheels, these tyres get halted with the help of front 320mm dual disc with 4-piston fixed calipers and a rear 320mm disc with a double-piston caliper. The braking is further responsive with the addition of Anti-lock brake system.

BMW K 1300 R Latest Updates
October 15, 2015: Back in 2008, BMW Motorrad introduced an iconic German-born machine named as BMW K1300. The manufacturer offers it in two variants - K1300R & K1300S. The suffixes R and S denote Roadster and Sport respectively. Both the variants are totally different from each other in terms of their engine capacities and categories. BMW K1300R roadster comes equipped with an 1170cc engine that pumps out 125 bhp of power and 125 Nm of torque. On the other hand, its sportier version houses a 1293cc engine that generates a peak power of 175 bhp with 140 Nm of maximum torque. Furthermore, these bikes are bestowed with some handy optional characteristics as well like, ABS, heated grips, Akrapovic exhaust and a quick shifter. BMW K 1300 is available across the Indian dealerships in the price range of Rs. 19. 50 lac to Rs. 21. 80 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi).
