Expert Review

BikeDekho Experts
The NS125 is a decent streetfighter which has an peppy engine, delivers an enjoyable riding experience, and could serve as the ideal entry-level motorcycle for many new riders.
Overview

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 is an affordable, performance-oriented bike best suited for beginner and intermediate riders who wish to have a sporty commuter for their daily rides. Inspired by the highly successful Pulsar NS200, the Pulsar NS125 is the entry-level model in the Bajaj Pulsar NS range of sporty-looking performance commuters. That said, the updated Bajaj Pulsar NS125 ABS has been launched with a whole bunch of updates.  It is also compatible with E20 fuel like every Bajaj motorcycle built in the past decade.

Design

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 resembles its larger siblings, the NS160 and NS200, but with different paint shades and stickering. While the overall design has remained unchanged, the Pulsar NS125 has new colours that make the bike look fresh.

Another element that makes the new Pulsar NS125 more eye-catching is the new all-LED headlamp, which also features thunderbolt-shaped daytime running LEDs. However, unlike the NS160 and NS200, which also get LED turn indicators, the Pulsar NS125 continues to come with clear-lens bulb-type turn indicators.

The sporty-looking fuel tank and minimalist tail section of the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 have remained the same. Like the more powerful NS models, the Pulsar NS125 offers split seats, clip-on handlebars, split pillion grab rails, a rear tyre hugger, and backlit switches.

Features

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 has an LCD instrument console, backlit switches, a USB charger, Bluetooth connectivity now finally with turn-by-turn navigation.

Riding Posture & Comfort

Despite its image as a sporty motorcycle, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 offers decently comfortable ergonomics for riding. Its lower-set clip-on handlebars and mildly rear-set foot pegs make the riding posture a bit aggressive for a 125cc motorcycle. However, the riding posture doesn't feel uncomfortable, and the split seats keep pillion riders comfortable too.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 offers a comfortable experience for riders of average height, with a not-so-tall seat height of 805mm. Surprisingly, despite an underbelly exhaust, the Pulsar NS125 has a good ground clearance of 179 mm.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125's motor offers a strong midrange performance. This engine feels peppy above 5,000rpm and can pull seamlessly to its redline, making quick overtaking easier. You can cruise through highways at 70-80kmph, but you may feel mild vibrations on the footpegs and the fuel tank at higher speeds.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 offers good fuel efficiency as well. Its real-world tested mileage is 64.75kmpl in the city and 56.46kmpl in highway riding conditions.

Handling & Ride Quality

Weighing just 144 kg, the Pulsar NS125 has a short wheelbase, nimble steering, and grippy tyres, all of which make riding through tight traffic a breeze. The telescopic fork suspension at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear offer decent ride quality. However, the skinnier tyres don't inspire as much confidence as the NS160 or NS200 when cornering at higher speeds.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 comes equipped with a 240 mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake with CBS (combined braking system) as standard. While the brakes provide adequate bite when braking hard, they don't feel super sharp or precise.

Service and maintenance charge is normal, mileage is 50 - 55 kmpl on highway, 45-50 kmpl in cities and streets. Overall, it is a quite good bike with good performance and minimal costs. Everyday rides upto hundred kms can be done easily, I ride daily around 80 kms and it is very easy for me and it's a sports bike even with only 125 CC engine.Read More

    GREAT BIKE, AFFORDABLE

I have chosen this bike because of its mileage and cost, in this price range this is the best bike i could get which is useful for m daily commute from home to college and casual rides with friends on weekends on the highway. My ride experience so far on this bike. The riding position and the comfort of the pillion is also great. the mileage i am getting is so close to the claimed mileage by the company, when i go above speed of 70 the milage drops. This bike is more suitable for students who are having less budget but want a stylish bike with great features, This is great for beginners who are planning to buy a street naked bike, people who are short height are not advised to get this bike as few people might face problems.Read More
