Victory Motorcycles to launch bikes in India in 2012

Victory Motorcycles, the U.S. based and major competitor of Harley Davidson motors, is going to launch its cruiser bikes in India by the year of 2012. These Victory bikes will be fully imported and available through CBU (completely built unit) hence the cost of the bikes might be same as Harley bikes.



Now the company is mulling to showcase its sophisticated cruiser bikes at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. As per reports, the company has done the market survey to make the base for motorcycle models in India. Right now, the company sells its bikes in New Zealand, U.K, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia and French market and India is in hit-list.

Victory Motorcycles also provides custom cruisers as Harley Davidson and its upcoming bikes in India might be from Touring category. The upcoming Victory cruiser bikes are Victory 8-Ball, Victory Muscle, Victory Ness (signature) and some Custom cruisers. The company has big series of bikes in the U.S. market like Ness Victory Vision, Ness Cross country, Victory Vision Tour, Ness Vegas, Jackpot, Hammer S, Victory Vision 8-Ball, Victory Cross Country, Hammer, Victory Cross roads, Kingpin, Hammer 8-Ball, Vegas, Kingpin 8-Ball and Vegas 8-Ball. All the bikes are having price between Rs. 5.68 lakh to Rs. 12.73 lakh.

All the Victory Motorcycles compete with Harley Davidson bikes like Victory Cross Country and the Victory Cross Roads bikes directly compete with Harley Davidson Road King. Both the bikes are having different appearance such as the Cross Country has full fairing while the Cross Roads sports has a classic-styling that comes loaded with a windshield. And these bikes are loaded with same a 1,731 cc V-Twin engine.

On the other hand, the Vegas segment bikes like Vegas 8-Ball and Jackpot are loaded with a 1,634 cc, Freedom V-Twin engine and boasted with a 6-speed transmission while the Victory Kingpin classic cruiser model houses same powerplant as above. The Victory Hammer, Victory Hammer S and the Victory Hammer 8-Ball comes in the Victory Hammer model series.

It is to recall that Harley Davidson launched its lowest-cost bikes in India such as Harley Davidson 833 Sportster which is priced at Rs. 5.5 lakh. Victory motorcycle is also mulling over to set an assembly plant in India after launch in 2012 and then its bikes will be available 30 per cent less than CBU cost.
