The off-road electric scooter’s new lithium-titanate oxide battery pack offers a 50km range and battery life of 20,000 charging cycles

Daymak Beast 2.0 Electric Scooter

  • Daymak is a Canadian electric two-wheeler company.
  • The Beast 2.0 gets fat knobby tyres and dual disc brakes.
  • Gets an app, which allows you control over torque, range and acceleration.
  • Has 3 variants: Ultimate, Deluxe, and Standard.

Off-road scooters are few and far in between and off-road electric scooter even rare. The Daymak Beast 2.0 is among the rare ones. Built by Canadian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Daymak, the Beast 2.0 gets off-road credentials in the form of knobby tyres on 10-inch rims, wide handlebars, and generous suspension travel. Well, it won’t do the serious off-road trails like your ADV or dirt bike given the relatively low ground clearance and small wheel size. However, the Beast 2.0 will go much further than your conventional scooter. It comes in three variants: Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate.

The highlight is the fast-charging system, which allows the Beast 2.0 to fully charge in under 20 minutes. This, however, is available only in the Ultimate variant, which comes with 60v25ah lithium-titanate oxide (LTO) battery pack. This kind of battery pack recharges faster and has a longer life than Lithium-ion battery packs. While the range is just 50km, this battery pack promises a life of 20,000 charging cycles. So theoretically, if you charge it twice a day, the battery could last 25 years!

The lesser Deluxe variant gets a lithium-ion battery pack, which offers around 60km range and has a life cycle of 1,000 charges. In comparison, the standard model has a lead-acid battery pack, which takes 6 to 8 hours to charge, offers a range of 50km, and has a life cycle of 400 charges. All three variants have a 500-watt motor, which allows it to climb up an incline of up to 15 degrees.
