Suzuki has updated all their products with BS-IV compliant engines and Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature. The Slingshot Plus was missing in the updated bikes list which confirms its silent withdrawal from the market.

The Slingshot was offered by Suzuki as a premium 125cc motorcycle in the lower capacity commuter motorcycle segment. The motorcycle was a very well balanced product but due to lack of proper update as compared to improving products in its segment, the motorcycle lost all its appeal. Meanwhile, a lot of exciting motorcycles were being offered by other manufacturers in the 125cc segment which led to gradual decrease in its sales figures. This might be one of the major reasons, which might have led Suzuki to discontinue the motorcycle from Indian market as informed to us by our sources.

The motorcycle was powered with a 124cc engine which produced 8.6PS @ 7500rpm and a peak torque of 10Nm @ 3500rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Slingshot produced less power than other 125cc motorcycles in its segment although there was a good amount of torque on offer at lower rpm, which provided a good peppy power delivery. Braking duties were done by a 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum at the rear.

The Slingshot was available for Rs 63,302 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
