Japanese auto giant's Indian arm Suzuki Motorcycles is all set to launch their 250cc bike Inazuma 250 in India. There were rumors for the same bike in 2012 as well, but this time the news seems to be reliable. Suzuki is planning to launch this bike in mid-2013, for which the dealers have already been informed. The above-200cc segment or affordable performance bikes segment has shown a significant rise in past 2 years, something that Suzuki seems to be planning to cash on.

Suzuki GW250 or Inazuma 250 has already been launched in the US, where it has received good response. The bike was exclusively designed for Asian markets, where the demand of affordable performance is rising constantly. Suzuki Inzuma has been developed right from the sketch board unlike the CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250R, both of which have been based on sports bikes. Inazuma 250 will take its power from newly design liquid cooled SOHC in-line 2-cylinder engine mated with 6 speed transmission, capable of delivering around 24bhp and a good mileage. So, we are expecting the bike to find a lot of consumers among the youngsters and those looking for a powerful bike in affordable price. Inazuma 250 has been optimized for low-to-mid range speeds, ideal for city traffic; however, the bike would still be smooth on open roads.

Suzuki Inazuma will be an open adversary for the Honda CBR250, KTM Duke 200 and the likes. Inazuma 250 is a naked bike and this is why this 250cc beast will be a low-cost bike as compared to rivals Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Inazuma is a naked bike unlike its competition; however, the bike's high-quality finish is carried throughout chassis using aluminium parts that not only makes the bike look good but also keeps overall weight down helping to increase performance, agility and economy. To compliment great performance, Inazuma 250 comes with hydraulic disc brakes both on the front and rear, and also a comprehensive instrument panel including a gear indicator, service reminder and 3-mode RPM indicator allowing you to select the gear change prompts that suits the type of riding you require, including an economy mode for changing gear to achieve optimal fuel consumption.
Suzuki Inazuma 250 is expected to hit the markets sometime in May-June 2013 with a price tag of around Rs. 1.75 lakh. To keep the price in check Suzuki might assemble the bike at its all new Gurgaon facility.
