Suzuki Motorcycles has added another product- ‘Gixxer SF’ to its Indian product portfolio today. Priced at INR 83,439 (Ex-showrrom New-Delhi), this is a not a new motorcycle but a faired iteration of its successful motorcycle- Gixxer.
Except the fairing, all other essential styling elements on the SF remain identical as the naked counterpart. The same fuel tank, side panels, grab rails, dual-barrel silencer, rear-LED tail light and the fully-digital instrument console has been retained as it is.
Even the mechanical bits have been left untouched and propelling the SF is the same 154.9cc air-cooled engine, capable of putting out 14.8 PS at 8000 rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The carbureted engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and claims a fuel efficiency of 63.50 kmpl with the added support from Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology.
Suspension duty is again handled by a telescopic setup on the front, and a 7-step adjustable rear mono suspension at the rear. While on the braking front, a single disc brake makes way upfront, whereas a drum brake works on the other end.
Gixxer has won a lot of praise from critics as well as the customers since its arrival. It has given the relatively-stagnant sales chart of Suzuki Motorcycle India, a much needed push, but will this all-new SF act as the icing on the cake? Let’s see.
